I have finished my build of my pc, and now need something else to do D: I'm thinking try and expand on my current build but how? i7 2600k 8GB Vengeance ram Maximus IV Extreme-Z GTX580 Asus Xonar DX Antec DF-85 60GB OCZ Agililty 3 750GB Storage Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro CPU cooler Corsair TX750 PSU Is there anything more can be done with this? D:
I have built my PC and now I am bored. Do I watercool it? I need to upgrade my GPU as the 570 cannot run BF3 at 2560 x 1440 smoothly on high settings. Just swapping the GPU is boring though! Do I build a watercooled HTPC? Could be fun!
SLI won't solve my problem though! Could just watercool the GPU's, I think my Dark Rock Pro is pretty noisy and it annoys me! Mind you there is 4 case fans in the FT02, 2 fans in the Pro and 1 in the graphics card! Lots of fans!
get a bigger SSD, U2711/U3011, mechanical keyboard, some good headphones/speakers, , and another 8GB of ram for the lulz. and if you haven't already buy another HDD/external HDD to back up your data.
Not sure how flexible the Pro version is but here's my Dark Rock Advanced with a Phobya Nano 2G 120mm fan. Really excellent fan and also PWM at that! Read about my exploits here... http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=219980
Ah cool, will have a play with the fan controller when it arrives to see if it is the case fans making most of the noise. I might take one of the fans off the heatsink and replace the other one like you have. How much difference did it make to the sound?
Minecraft /thread If you want to watercool, flick through my thread, link in sig, as I'll be happy to answer any questions you have
I always have it cranked to 100% anyway! If memory serves at 100% it is louder than the stock Be Quiet fan but not annoyingly so. Anyway at lower speeds it is more effective than the Be Quiet fan and not loud. Needs a little playing with your fan profile for silence but I can't knock the Phobya Nano 2G for performance.
Is that what this forum is about? I use my PC everyday but I want to play with it or maybe have a new project.
This forum is (at least this section of the forum), like any other PC forum, about helping people and to get help. It isn't about telling people to waste money on garbage they don't need.
Mod it; work on the aesthetics of the system. Cable braiding? Big job, but worth it. Case modding? I've finished my hardware upgrading (for now) and am extremely happy with the performance of my system, given that any games I play (not many) are run at 2560x1600 and therefore need every ounce of grunt my graphics card can produce. My job now is to mod my rig and make it look good.
Who has recommended garbage in this thread? Please do show me which post recommends that he wastes his money?
That's a loaded statement right there - hardly anybody "needs" what they have; people don't play games out of necessity, therefore people don't build enthusiast PCs out of necessity. Do I need a twelve-core CPU for day-to-day tasks? LOL no. Do I need a GTX480 for web-browsing? Nope. People buy what they want, and it's clear that the OP wants to buy something.
I couldn't take the noise of even one of my MSI 560Ti's on air. Both on water now. 8 new 120mm arctic F12 fans (PWM) all controlled by speedfan. Very low noise. I like my SLI but would love a single GPU that could run BF3 on ultra.
