I ordered bubble wrap from ebay and since I was out, they left the parcel with my neighbor. When I got back, there was no tracking number on the receipt left with me. I found out from the the neighbor that I have 20 kg dumbbells as well. Did not order those. Now I know someone somewhere will be fuming that their 20 kg dumbbells have not arrived yet.
Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Personally I'd be making a phoncall to Yodel and explaining the situation.
You contact them and see if they want to collect them. On your terms. That way they can decide what to do. Remember it is illegal to open post that is not your own. Also lm_wfc.... LOL!
I was thinking that too, but I'll be away for a week. It has to be next week then. It will be one long wait. Best avoid Yodel in future
Yodel lost my carpet cleaner once, never got it back Seems like they should be avoided at all cost. Also try and get a refund when you contact them (by phone) because they charge 10p a minute and will easily make you wait 30 minutes on hold.
I had a similar dilemma when an etailer that shall remain unnamed sent me a MSI 560Ti HAWK rather than the 560Ti Twin Frozr II/OC I had ordered. Bearing in mind this was well before the HAWK was actually on the market! Ultimately I kept quiet, imo it was there fault for putting the wrong barcode on it, but it did weigh on my conscience a bit!
In that case don't call them. Email them. If they don't want to make themselves available for notification its not your fault. Write them a letter, then you've got proof you've tried.
Just did that. My thoughts are exactly. In fact on their webpage, there are no free-phone numbers for other items. Only numbers they have are those premium 0845/087x number. Here is hoping they will check their email. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
If it isn't far then deliver it yourself. I'm sure the person that gets it will be happy. On a side note, who orders a 20KG weight? the shipping on that must of been a real kick in the wallet?
Cast-iron dumbbells 20 kg. With packaging it is about 23 Kg's to me. At first I thought someone ordered concrete blocks. I'll wait one day for Yodel to deliver then I should just find this bloke with my friend and ask if he could take back home himself. Would a day be a reasonable waiting time for an email reply by Yodel? If not then it would be next week as I'll be away.
If you have a name and address, would it be that difficult to find a phone number? Alternatively, is the store the other guy ordered from marked on the package? You could contact them and explain the situation.
Rubbish. The only law that comes close to that is interfering with the postal system. If you have reasonable cause to open an item (ie what address shall I send it back to) then you are welcome to open it. I've had to open post on many occasions because the helpful people don't put return address' on court letters etc!! -J
Thank the lord that Yodel actually delivered your parcel AT ALL? They have a habbit of just not bothering or, for the lucky people they will take your parcel and throw it at your door, over your fence, jam it in a gate, anything but walk to the front door, that's too mainstream.
I managed to track the person down. Looks like he studies at the same uni. Tried his name through the uni address book. If it was someone outside and google does not come up with definite results, I guess that this will be held a long time. On another note, Yodel has not replied to my mail. Best other people keep away from this company. Even reviews online show the company getting 1/5 stars
