So, on Thursday I bought a new hybrid drive for my laptop. A nice 7mm one that I can put in any future laptop I may purchase.

Then, on Friday, I bought an Aspire S7 as it was crazy cheap. Now I'm not sure what to do with the hard drive. It's unopened and obviously unused, so should I send it back to Scan or should I put it in my PC or should I replaced the 80GB in my portable USB hard drive? Seems like a waste of a hybrid drive, though.

Oh, before I forget, it will not go in the S7, that needs a mSATA drive. So, what to do?

    SAN

You can also pick up bootable iSCSI fibre cable HBAs for as cheap as £20 on the bay for some remote booting awesomeness! If you have a big enough RAID array you might even saturate the fiber.

Don't even look at 10GbE, dual aggregate will be much more cost effective, unless of course you want switching, in which case both are very expensive. Surprisingly though Cat7 ethernet cable is more expensive than OM3 fiber cable, and 10GbE single NICs start from around £400.

Hmmm, that could well be something for the future, but definitely not the near future.

My decision has been made for me. The order for the laptop has been cancelled, shocker!
