A "roof matt" (a matt that you putt un roofs insted of steel and brick's..)
    or
A yuoga matt (thicker then the "roof matt")

the "roof matt" is 3.5mm thick
and the yuoga matt is 7.0mm thick

The "roof matt" is harder to gett in place becuse it's thinner butt it's more flexible.

The Yuoga matt is easy to gett in place do to it stands on it's own. becuse it's so thik it's hard form.

sory for bad bad English no time to spellsheck

how about silencing it without using the matts, ie using larger fans on smaller volts, do it that way?

There are many critical things to do before using something to dampen the sound/vibrations.

Get big fans, 120mm x 38mm my favourites.
    Make/Buy a fan controller.
Suspend your HDD with elastic bands or something so the vibration won't go to your case.
Put aluminum heatsinks on your HDD so you don't need a fan to cool it down.
Replace your PSU's fan with big 120mm fans.
Get a good heatsink for your CPU. ;)

no thats the point the thicker mat dose not need glue itt stays in plase any way!

i have one 120 mm fan planing on bying a second one. i have a smal case so i can't put any 120mm on the cpu and the heat sink is fine. As soon as i gett the money i will buy a water cooling block i have the rest of a rig (home made).
And if i turn down the volts the heat will rise.
The cpu is att a tamp of 40C in idle
and the system in 45c idle.

    I have a enermax EG365P-VE.
    (A Enermax EG365P-VE 350w PSU Review:
    here)

Oki now im back i havent hade access to the internet the past day's.

it's not the HDD's that is the problem it's the high pitch sound from the 2 80mm fans the psu is no problem it's as silent as a cat.

And i don't have the room in the case for 3 new 120mm fans, i will putt 1 in the front butt it vill not fitt in the rear end. maybe if i putt it on the outside. But it gets so dam ugly then.

Turn off fans in turn and see if you can find what's causing the most noise.
    Undervolt fans and check temperatures.

i know what's causing the noise it's the rear 80mm fan and the 80mm on the cpu.
And im not realy intrested in bying some new ones.
i koud under volt the rear fan but i am to lasy to do that.
    hehe.
i still wan't to put some silencing padding in it so.

I'd second SpeedFan. It's easier to use than Motherboard Monitor and you can control fan speeds from within Windows. Works very well (I'm using it as a backend to Samurize.)

And check into those dead cats, they do wonders for sound dampening :D

I live cats.... thinly sliced between wholemeal bread :D

Anyway mate, get a 80-120mm fan adaptor for your CPU and undervolt using either speedfan (not sure if it'd work on your system) or a fanmate. It's cheap and you could really reduce your noise.

The same could be done with the rear 80mm if you have the room on the inside. If not then maybe mod it onto the back of the case, again using the adaptor.

Cutting fan grills really helps airflow and reduces air turbulance - therefore less noise.

Also, buy a couple of packs of vantec silicone fan gaskets, they reduce vibration to the case which is probably a major source of noise.

Cutting fan grills: done (The first thing i did when i gott the case)

Rear 80mm to 120 mm on the out side: don't want to that ugly.

i have noticed if you putt your hand in front of rear 80 mm fan so that it get's some persure so it pushes back a bit it runs more silent.

120 mm on the cpu: i don't think it will fit in there.

The silcon thing is to expensive for what you gett. I think.

woud it be a good investment.

im planing on bying a nother 120 mm fan for the front.

Im building my own fan kontroller if i diside that i need one.

I've made one before so thats no problem do it's desembled now. may be i'l find it some where.

Maybe a rear 120mm on the inside will be better. If you want to get a silent rig you've gotta try and eliminate as many fans as possible and have the largest available. Adding another 120mm to the front will gve you better temps but will just add more noise. I run my rig on a 80mm PSU fan, 120mm rear and 120mm on the CPU. I can maintain the CPU fan at 30% giving temps of 52 deg C (max load). It's not very silent because of the poor PSU (annoyingly loud 'silent' Zalman) but it has the potential. If you're not too concerned about temps (as long as it works it's fine is my philosophy) then you can quite easily get a quiet rig.

A fan controller will make a huge difference to noise (got a fanmate on my exhaust). The silicone gaskets won't make a huge difference if you've got rubber feet on your case but at £4 for 2x120mm gaskets + washers and screws, it was a bargin.

Hope this gives u some ideas,

    Scotty

i have one of thes babys on the cpu
    http://www.web-jussi.com/only4pro/sivupohja.php?toiminto=tuotteet&esite=24758
the fan can changed to a 120 mm but i have to "dukt" it from the out side so that the rear fan will fit. int hat case i fill buy a second 120 mm to the rear.

by the way have the youga mat inside and it runs mutsh more silent then before it yust sounds like o lilte hover kraft du to the rear 80 mm fan.

im thinking of buying a adbit nf7-s motherbord and a radeon 9800pro
(clocking it to 9800xt speed and bios of an 9800xt).

I will buy a nother 120 mm fan where shude i putt it on the cpu or in the rear?
And for now i will only buy one i think.
