The time is drawing closer for me when I have to chose which Uni course I wanna do and where I should do it. What Uni courses do you guys do? And what Uni is the best? I had my eyes on the Computer Game Programming course at Teeside, because that's the industry I want to go into. Alternatively there's Computer Science with Games Development at Wolverhampton (my home town). What does Computer Science on it's own like? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
im doind computer science at Univwersity of nottingham and its pretty cool, dropped out of architecture last year is it was pretty pants, dont do architecture, its pant but yeah, conmputer science is good, quite a bit of programming but also alot of otehr practical stuff too and i know that nottingham does Digital Business, which is kinda half comptuer science and half management and i know a few poeple that are doing it and are happy with it Computer science is very very very easy for teh first sememser if you have had alot of experience with computers before, well it was for me anyway
i would try and get away from your home town everyone says its the best option, and personally i agree. to have your own independance, no matter how independant you currently are from your parents (if ur living with then ), is always a good thing im thinking of doing Physics at Cambridge if that falls through (which, it inevitably will ) im gonna try durham, warwick, imperial and edinburgh. All heady places i know If you wanna be a computer programmer, i would go for the compsci course, because although you learn compsci, you also learn programming. A mate of mine at cambridge is doing compsci, and he has just created a program which renders real time smoke! it really is amazing
Hopefully it looks like i will be doing Internet Computing at manchester met. Its quite good their because its a common first year for all the kind of computing courses so you get to choose from about 6 different ones at the beginning of the second year EDIT : W00T my post count is all the 1's
Yeh, Programming is really my thing. But I want it to be leaning toward the kind of programming I'll need for games - which is why Teeside appealed to me so much. Anyone here goto Teeside?
