I've just been having a chat with some one about old TV shows and we can both remember a TV show about time travel where each week the two main heroes of the program walked into a big chamber that looked like one of those spinny hypno disk things were they them time traveled had there adventure and got back they both worked for the American military of some sort but neither of us can remember what the program/series was called.

    any ideas

it's called stargate, first a movie and then a tv series that's still running

no its not stargate as I said this program is from the 70's it seriously predates stargate its effect (if they can be called that) are more in line with star trek the original first series sort of filming.

I think the fact that he said it was an old show, not a ongoing franchise and the entire description (2 people standing in a hypno disk thingy) not sounding anything like stargate would have given it away though...

Yep, I remember the Time Tunnel, god bless Irwin Allen and all the shows and disaster movies he produced.

Sure they were a bit cheesy and probably would be embarassing to watch now but I enjoyed them at the time and there are some things that should be left as a happy memory and not brought to the harsh light of modern day. Worst mistake I ever made was watch Death race 2000 recently, I remember it being really good at the time but boy was it naff. Either it didn't age well at all, my taste was really bad back then or my preferences have drastically changed.

to be honest its probably all three I made the mistake of trying to watch an old episode of space 1999 the other day. Never again I swear I now want to time travel back to when I was a kid and slap myself for wasting most of my saturday mornings watching that junk :).
