My farther had an Atari-ST a few years before i was born so when I came along there was quite a library waiting for me. I can remember playing on Blacklamp, Bomberjack, Super-hang-on, The original sim city oh and Star Goose but that only worked if you did something special after inserting the disk. After the Atari my first true console was a Sony Playstation
well it was pong on a bbc.............blast from the past 5.25 floppies ffs! then xarons revenge on a comadore 16 starter pack.
Midi-Maze on the Atari ST, it was also the first "networked" game I played. If you count daisy chaining 8 Ataris together on the kitchen table. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_Maze
just went looking in the attic for my c64 hehe in going to have a night playing on dizzy he was such a kool egg
It was either Space Invaders on the Osborne or something on the TI99-4A. Not sure which came first. First games I really took seriously were Sopwith and Castle, both on the 8086.
When my friends were playing mario brothers on the NES, I was playing shareware PC games that my dad downloaded via dial-up BBSes. I'm not sure what was first, but commander keen was definitely one of 'em, along with other Apogee games like Duke Nukem and Crystal Caves. Other memorable games from my childhood include jetpack, dangerous dave, lemmings, chopper commando, and war2. Most of these will play very well under dosbox, if you wanna give 'em a shot =]
