guess that could explain why it made my DVOM trip out before getting a stable reading.. well, i have a soulution.. i found a old florescent light that no longer works, so i stole the wire that comes off the ballist, works perfect.. better insulation than what comes on the cathode..
Good idea! I have a few ballasts lying around my house. I was going to disassemble them for tesla coil usage but I never got around to it. Someone clipped the wires though.
