I know the twin frozr has better cooling.....Both on Scan's 'today only', the 770 is £220 and the 7970 is £210.
Depends totally on the games you play and want to play in the future. They are both just as fast as one another and at 1920x1080 they will all run todays games np. Nvidia favoured titles will favour the 770 AMD favoured titles will favour the 7970. Personally id struggle to go back to AMD after the issues ive had in the past but thats just me. Both are true bargins at that price point though.
Res 1080p at the moment and probably will stay that way for a while. Games would be BF4, skyrim, some steam games, basically the AAA titles, and upcoming titles. The 770 come with 3 free games also, enough to swing it?
It's a toughie to be honest - which camp have your previous cards been from? Do you have any particular loyalty?
I've had old nessie, my 8800GT for five years now, haven't had any problems and before that had a X1950 pro. I'm either or to be honest! I think the free games are leaning me towards the 770. *EDIT* Took the plunge with the 770....To the depths...
You would have been happy with either I feel, enjoy your new gpu The other question that may have been important was whether 3D interested you/multiple monitors, since as far as I'm aware neither are good at both (nvidia for 3D, AMD for multi-monitor)
