Since about a week ago ive had this Asetek Waterchill kit, works brill. Getting temps in the mid 35's.

Anyway i turn it on, it gets 2 windows but before everything is loaded, it reboots, then keeps rebooting like once a second and wont even get to the bios until i unplug the power, plug it back in and turn back on, then it does the same again. It also does it if i do something intensive even in dos like norton ghost or something. By the way dont say its temperature increase ive checked it time and time again it is not the temperature, both my motherboard bios temp sensor and my aerogate say so
    My system is :
    Amd athlon 2800+
    256mb Cheapo ram
    550 Qtek PSU
    52x CD-rw
    4x DVD drive
    80gb hard drive
    Leadtek nforce 2 ultra mobo
    Ati radeon 9600 (Saphire)

Ive tried swapping the psu, only for a 400watt which technically is worse than my current one but it was worth a try, it was no better, i tried my ram in another pc, and it worked no problem aswell. If i try to boot my pc without ram it just beeps, but doesnt restart. I really would prefer not to swap graphics, motherboard or cpu's around because that means removing waterblocks (sigh). I think it MIGHT be my motherboard since it did get a little teeny bit of water on in. But it seems strange that i can virtually boot to windows.

    Whats wrong? :duh: Please help

Have you tried reseting your BIOS back to default?

If you have, I would have to say the water must be a prime issue. If you havent changed anything of signifigance, and this started happening after you installed your cooling kit, It has to be the water.

It had power supplied to it when it got wet, nothing happened on screen though, ive tried reseting the cmos, no use, the strange thing is how i can basically get to windows, its just really strange. The water landed on my motherboard, so would you see that the prime culprit (the most annoying thing to test if its broke)

well - did this happen before you got water on the MoBo? Did this start happening right after you got it wet?

What do you mean by 2 windows? It gets to the windows splash screen? This is where it starts to reboot?

I would reseat the CPU and memory, but if it worked before the spill and now it doesn't - then yeah seems like something got fried.

If you are really deturmined, you should try moving PCI cards to different slots, even removing as many as possible, and then disconneting as much as possible. If none of these help - you should probably get your pocket book ready.

This didnt happen when it was aircooled, i got water on the mobo while it was on though oh !£($"@@$!&! unplugged it, attempted to try up the water left it for a while fixed the leak, turned it back on it booted (im thinking thank god) it gets past the windows splash screen it gets 2 the desktop, still loading everything, then reboots and wont even get to the bios, i unplug it, it does it again, i boot of a norton ghost and a linux cd, it does the same. :baby: . I think i can safely say it the motherboard, but its gonna be rite annoying to test

I think its time to just start looking for a new MoBo. Water and electronics just don't mix, not even for a split second.
