I seem to be experiencing some type of faulty problems within the operating system. For some reason there are crashes for almost every program that connects to the internet. Winamp crashes when i select a song and it tries to find the album picture and info on the internet. Steam crashes, ie crashes, msn-mes crashes too. Perhaps there is something that they share. I have Ran a nod32 virus scan and {ad aware spybot scan} too. Anyone know whats going on? Because this is paralyzing to me.
You Mean reformat?... eek! There has got to be a different way.. don't really want to make back ups.. btw i have SP2 in case i mess interpreted what you wrote.
Its disabled now but thats not to be the cause since i still get crashes that tell me to do a debug or report to Microsoft. Its the We're sorry for the inconvenience one.
Have you changed any vital hardware such as CPU or motherboard, that requires a re-install. If you added any other new hardware, be sure you got rid of the driver for the hardware it replaced. This really does sound like a virus issue to be honest, but if scans don't show anything it's either a really good virus or something else.
Download Internet Explorer 6 or 7, whichever you have and run the installer program you've downloaded. It might fix your problem.
O.k... i just got back from the restore. On start up i got some errors... one was.. C:\windows\is-aucsh.exe which sounds suspicious. and then a SRV#001 CLED error? What gives?
I'm going to make a file and name it this to see what happens.. maybe i will be able to see something more. I will brb.
right-click on "my computer" go to "manage" then "event viewer" then dig through there.. often you can find errors and stuff in there, and then the ones with the red icons, you can double click them and SOMETIMES you can get a useful link in the description from the MS site about what happened, and what you can do to fix them but, if the system restore does not work, then you may be going down the road of either "get an additional hard drive and move all your crap to there" or "buy some dvd-rs and burn baby burn" and then reformat/reinstall. it sounds drastic, but it feels oh so good when you do it.
