    Dumb question time. :)

Do screws heads and screwdrivers have sizes listed? I know they list the diameter and length of screws but how do you know what the size and depth of the slots are so you can match that with the right bit? I've always used trail and error.

Yeah I know what you mean but that wasn't the issue. The issue was that the pre drilled screw holes were a bit loose and so if you even so much as tried to over tighten the screws they would just spin and expel wood shavings from the hole. Which isn't good on a drawer rail, for example.

My drill (even on the very lowest torque setting.. You know? ratta tatta tatta :D ) was simply too strong for the crap pre drilled holes/material it was made from.

In the past if I have put together a chest of drawers by the time I am done my hands are killing me. These screws and fixings were so loose it was like I hadn't even done one up. Crap really, but it doesn't look bad now it's built.

I'm to lazy to read back through the thread. :D But what i always do with holes that are to big, especially in chipboard as that's notorious for loose holes, is get some cooks matches (the extra long ones) and some wood glue, squirt wood glue into the hole and pack it out with the matches.

Lightning strike on the office in the early hours of this morning. Been here since 06:45 and not likely to be away until later this evening.

    Sleep is for losers anyway

If you mix up MDF dust with wood glue and put that in the holes it works quite well too. Kinda like an epoxy.

Let me know if you want or need any help on anything lightning or surge protection (don't worry, I have nothing to do with sales...).

Hardly life ruining, but upsetting nonetheless.

PCmodders are messing me around again. For the third time. This is the company who used to be Specialtech whom I adored, but it seems that is but a distant memory. I've had two lots of fittings from them that leaked (rotary 45s and crusty dried Orings) and both times they have not been helpful at all. Then (and I must want my f*****g head examined for going back for more !) I saw the GPU block and back plate I wanted on their website. I phoned them and got an immediate answer and they said that yes, it was definitely in stock. OK, so I ordered. Since then? they've disappeared. Literally vanished. I left it two days after hearing nothing from them and then shot them a email asking them for a tracking number once it had shipped. I do this a lot, because certain couriers can't seem to find my doorbell. Nothing. Two days solid now I have been phoning them and getting no answer.

I'm not even in a mad rush for the stuff, but everything else I ordered from all over the place (apart from the pump which is coming from China, hence being in no rush) is here and delivered.

I guess it's time to stop hanging onto happy memories and give them the old Spanish archer once and for all :(

Today I made a smoothie from fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, Banana, Lemon and Apple juice.

It was delicious, but chewy, now the seeds are stuck between my teeth, between every, single, tooth. This doesn't seem physically possible!

Oh man, my memory of Specialtech is that they were a nightmare, always having things in stock* and then quietly forgetting to post your order and hoping you didn't notice. My last order from them was a load of NZXT stuff, way back in 2012, paid for 24 hour delivery, then nothing. Emailing them after a week revealed that they only had about half what I'd ordered in stock so they were sitting on it. When I cancelled the order the cheeky feckers tried to take a re-stocking fee.Good to see that's it's still the same friendly service.

    *about 5 weeks from now

Kid who's the closest thing to a nephew I currently have might have cancer. Not even ten yet. The universe does not care.

Oh dude no words :( Yeah, life does its level best convincing you there is no one upstairs. It's taken me 35 years to regain anything you could consider as faith, and once again it's being tested to the limits :(

My uncle with cancer has now gone into a coma. They say he won't come out of it. He's only alive because his heart is so strong. The rest of him is shutting down. My head is saying stay strong my heart is saying cry your ****ing eyes out.

Crying your eyes out isn't a sign of weakness mate, it's a good stress relief so you can continue to stay strong.

Don't know what to say to that mate, it's just plain wrong. Best you can do is to try and keep him smiling if you can.

Decided to go with the latter. Cried for nearly an hour. Probably the longest I have cried since my nana's funeral. Feel better, but the relief has only lasted so long and now I just feel like crying again.
