So the past 2 years, my tax code has all been normal, last month it got slashed in half and instead of getting a modest pay rise, I was paying £150 extra in tax. Figured it was just a typical new tax year balls up, but this months wages were down too.

Called up and got through surprisingly quick, went through all the security crap, explained the situation and was told the reason why i'm being taxed so much is because I haven't filled in self assessments for 13/14, 14/15 and 15/16... Except I haven't been self-employed since 2012 and have the cease trading email from HMRC to confirm it. Was told that doesn't matter and even if I fill every box with zero's, if they get issued, they have to be returned. OK, but why am I only just being told this now? Why haven't I had ANY notice of this before? Because apparently HMRC don't know you've changed your address unless you CALL THEM TO TELL THEM. Doesn't matter that the 3 PAYE employers i've had since 2012 have given them my details, doesn't matter that they've managed to send me tax code notices to my current address at the end of each year (and another when we signed up for marriage tax allowance), for the sake of self assessment they'll just keep continuing to send reminders and warnings to the very first address you gave them when you started working under your own name until you tell them otherwise... EVEN IF THAT ADDRESS WAS LITERALLY DEMOLISHED 5 YEARS AGO AND NO LONGER EXISTS.

Now I have to go through the entire ballache of trying to find/get my old UTR number so I can log into the self assessment system, hammer the "0" key until my finger is a bloody stump and appeal the fines and outstanding balance.

IDK if this is great news or sucks tbh. I think it sucks, personally. Especially as I stated my case to a skin professional and she said I was wrong....

So about two years or so back I got really bad hives. They were pretty much all over my body. Down my sides, on my arms, and at the base of my back. They itched like merry hell. I went to the docs, gave me some cream that was no help at all. It was like being bitten by fire ants. Itchy and burning. After several visits to the doctor I was referred to a skin clinic to see a professional. By now the strongest of the steroid creams was working, and had removed most of it leaving only my arms and hands. Then my right hand cured (using steroid cream) and now I am only left with my left hand issues. It flares up every now and then and I have to use steroid cream on it.

OK, so whilst I was at the skin place the woman said it was eczema. I asked her could it be anything I am eating or drinking, she says no it's eczema. I ask her could it be the vaping? maybe the nicotine? she says no, it's eczema.

So much for being a skin care professional. She even went as far as to say "There is nothing in that Ecig that could possibly cause anything like this".

IDK what to do now. I guess finish what I have, then look for an alternative? if that even exists? Like I said, I don't know if it's good news or bad tbh.

 

I had a random thing on my back appear a fea years ago fro nowhere and spread all over my back (so much so I couldn't sleep as my back was literally falling off in a sticky mess).

That was eczema and spread after the gf put teatree oil on it.

Cutting out any teatree (ie manuka honey as that be teatree) helped after the steroids cleared it up.

My hands flared up using pretty much all hand cleaning and shampoos - I just use sebamed now, works for me.

But yeah i can notice it if washing my hands at pubs or airports and the like. Very rarely happens now unless I have several days of having to use anything other than sebamed.

Ad.. It started when vaping started to become more intense. I never had any issues buying 10ml mixed bottles (24mg) from vaping liquid (who went out of business). It was when my ex and I started buying the higher end fags that it started happening. You know? the fire starters. First we had twist batteries with variable voltage, then we moved onto 1ohm Itaste. And of course here I am now with dual 18650, no regulation and a .4ohm coil. And my hand looks like I have leprosy.

My mother said something very prophetic to me a few weeks back, but as usual I ignored it and scoffed at her for being wrong.

"I think it is caused by stress. I have noticed that when you get stressed it gets really bad".

And of course, what do I do when I am stressed? do my impersonation of a steam train.

 

Could well be as i've had some reactions (mainly gut though) to some liquids in the past.

It may be a perfect storm, an allergy, stress and heavy vaping.

I've lowered my nic down now. I was putting 10ml into 50ml base (for about 20mg) but I reduced it to 8ml recently. No idea how that works out, but it is lower and I have been doing OK. I am not vaping any more than usual. Will give it two weeks, then cut it down to 6.

I now know to buy only VG I guess.

 

Ask for a second opinion from a qualified dermatologist/consultant.

 

High PG liquids turn my bum hole into the loosest fog horn ever heard

 

I can't handle anything more than 30% PG - I don't react to it, but it's too damn harsh on my throat & lungs. It's not a pleasant experience.

Everyone wants to go home just need to update payroll but windows decides to crash everything out and restart, currently 20 minutes in....

I think we will be swapping over to Mac in the new year, this happens way to much.

 

Speaking of weird skin conditions- I've been plagued with Pompholyx for several years now... but only on my left hand. I do use Hydrocortisone cream but I don't think it does much- seems like anything that would be effective requires a prescription & even then it might not do much as there is no definite cause...
