    Working on a book project under a very aggressive deadline, and I've got a chapter to write this weekend then another four chapters and five appendices to write before the 21st of July in order to get my bonus payment.

    Sadly, not that short. The next one's a chapter on physical computing, including projects using Scratch, Python, and the Raspberry Pi Sense HAT - it's going to be an absolute beast.

    So it appears that my pc is well and truly dead. Stuck in a boot loop, not even getting anywhere near os startup, and that’s if it even boots to bios at all.

    Been having a few issues with memory on starting up from time to time. It would hang on a C1 code. So I thought, what with it being a somewhat aged 1366 based system and all, I would swap back in my old i7 920 and my old memory to see if the issue was with the memory controller in the Xeon that I have been running for a while. Nope.

    Next up, swapping my old memory sticks back in, nope.

    So now it’s a new board, cpu and memory job and I don’t have any money to put towards it, let alone the £500 to £700 ish that something semi decent is going to cost. Time to start looking at what I can sell, I guess.

    Seriously not what I need right now, work is pure stress, wife’s depressed to the point of self harm (she’s getting help), my eyes are showing the start of diabetes linked problems, and now this.

    The cooler is fine, not so much as a blemish! Genuinely missing a chunk just below the fingernail, i'm not sure what impresses me more, the RPM that fan was at or my own stupidity.

    My arcade cabinet has an 80mm 240V fan with metal blades and no internal guard. You'd better believe I treat that one with respect!

    when you've been thinking out a case mod in your head for ages after a few initial sketches, only then come to do some real plans and realise you've made a right real cock up on the scale and it isn't going to work. at least not in as small a space as i wanted. man sff stuff is a headache and i'm not even trying to build that small! might have to get a sfx psu ditch the dual loops though :sigh:
