England win, which means I have to put up with another five days of incessant punditry from every self important **** I meet in the next five days. It could ony be worse if the Chris Froome doping but not doping farce were resolved...

    ...well ****...

    Also, this is very sad.

Best, most insightful, pundit by far has been Alex Scott.

She always makes Phil Neville look as though he's wandered into a football conversation blindfolded, picking sayings out of his 'big bag of phrases'.

I'd never been a fan of the neville brothers, but Gary has won me over in retirement with his insightful and refreshing punditry in what had become a stale dull environment. But not Phil. And not just because he's as exciting as a cardboard biscuit dunked in mud.

Once after a rather heavy night, I went to the shop for some pop to help me through, I had just enough change left over for the cheap but good lemonade from the corner shop. Or so I thought. In amongst the change, was an odd looking 10p. Odd looking because it was a football memorabilia coin. Staring up at me at the till was Philip ****ing Neville, the **** Neville. I did not get my pop. I will never forgive him.

Agree 100% re Neville brothers. Gary has won me over too since commentating.

Phil, well, almost as clueless as Martin Keown. Well, maybe not that bad.

Keown the retard donkey. Danny Murphy is another one that needs putting out to pasture, Kilban is Mr point out things that a blind man can see.

    God I miss Barry Davies.

It's not the ones on the telly that will bother me, it's all the ones I'm going to have to deal with at work.

I hope we (iiiiiingeeerrluuuurrrmd) make it to the final, because we'll get smashed by France, Belgium or Brazil. It will be hilarious, like the Germany 7-1 Brazil game.

With the young squad at the stage they're at I was hoping for QFs as a sign of good progress. Anything else is a bonus.

It'd be greedy to win it on top of being U17 and U20 world champions.

Anyway with the team Croatia have I don't think they're allowed back in the country without the WC so the semis will be tricky for anyone against them.

It was great to see them get the penalty shootout monkey off their backs, and there were some good performances in the face of despicable behaviour from the Columbian team, especially in defense (for 75 minutes at least) but lets not get carried away - they will have to perform a LOT better than that to get past Sweden.

Call me cynical (Or Welsh - it's much the same thing), but England didn't win - They just surprisingly failed to lose, against all expectations.

England let Colombia equalise in injury time, then just shuffled around during extra time. Did they really deserve to go through?

Constant football gumph at work. literally 2/3rds of the office isn't in more than likely due to hangovers, but were expected to do extra work to make up for the sudden shortfall.

****ing trains. 2 days in a row I've not been able to get on my train as it's been full, having been reduced from 3 to 2 carriages. Most of the people could get off that train and get the next one into Birmingham 10 mins later, but I go back out of Birmingham and the next train to my station is an hour later. Had to get a train to somewhere close and get a taxi. Fuming.

Renationalise the railways and bring in some of the senior railways management people from Japan, to show our people how to run a network properly.
