It's something to do with the co2 irritating the diaphragm, which has nerve endings in the shoulder area. Can't remember specifics.

EDIT: Yep, the Phrenic nerve. Here's a link with some tips to help the symptoms:

Thanks for that, pretty fascinating really how we're wired up, seemingly willy-nilly in places.

When you slice your finger open with a scalpel, finally get it to stop bleeding, then pick up a motherboard and get some PCB spikey love to open it back up again.

And then you get heat blisters on your other hand, thumb and pointer.

Sick of knacking myself every time I do stuff :(

Appraisal time at work, and our 'Murican corporate overlords want us to do it ourselves, using a crappy software package that we've had zero training on. :wallbash:

They want you to write your own appraisals?? That's very trusting of them.

Sounds like mine, but you can add you have to connect to Citrix in order to use the dodgy in house written app.
Does yours go off to be "reviewed" as in marked down as well?

Thankfully no Citrix here, but yes on "reviewed" = marked down.

Get in touch with the sender to find out what's happened. You will probably find the parcel was mis-routed and then assigned a new tracking reference. This happens to us quite often and we have been through quite a few couriers.

My granddad died Monday morning after going missing for a few days last week. I'm currently in France, with his funeral tomorrow, and I'm feeling physically sick, and nervous about tomorrow. It's my first ever funeral, and I'm really not looking forward to the next 24 hours. I almost want to be back in England so I don't have to face it. Urgh.

Damn sorry to hear that mate.

Hope you all get through the day ok. I hate them, i stay tense until we all hit the bar. That then is at least a time when people relax and remember good things.

    so sorry mate.

This is never an easy time in life. But it is a chance to say a final goodbye and pay respects to your granddad. Don't forget, your granddad would not want you upset.
    Take care

Chin up, Sam - raise a glass to the old fella and remember the good times.

Dwelling on loss is a particularly miserable existence, especially when the one you've lost would hate to see you do so.

It might just feel really bad right now but things will improve. And quicker than you might think. That's my experience with death in the family or of close friends, at least.

As the guys above me said: remember the good days with him, raise your glass in his honour and act like he'd want you to.

Thank you guys, it's done and dusted now. Time to move on, remembering the good times. As a note, we had 3 songs playing, the 3rd and last was Erik Idle- Always look on the Bright Side of Life. He did love Monty Python.

That does sound like one of the best songs to end a service on. Insanely positive and life-affirming.
