Alright Mr Money bags over there.
Bloomin hot and I've doing bloody Prime 95 runs to sort out a tool I'm working on for benchmarks. Not ideal. Just took my shoes off. This is a massive improvement.

Sadly, I was referring to my place of employment, not my home office. Anyway, why's a doge wearing shoeses?

As was I. Health and safety with the amount of tempered glass that spontaneously shatters here they're needed. Woof

    I hear you bro.

We had an easier move a week ago but still have boxes to unpack and jobs to do around the house - this heat ain't helping.

The last two times we moved house, August 2003 and May 2012, were both marked by hot and humid weather. 'Twas dire.

moaning about hosting provider on twitter... now getting bombarded by replies for hosting co's trying to sell me their services...

I blame @Gareth Halfacree, even though he's likely getting similar spam having made a similar moan.

Only two so far! Last time I moaned about Tsohost, though, I had a company hunt down my phone number and call me. Even when I pointed out I'm paying about £8 a month and have no desire to increase that, they sent me a personalised quotation I could one-reply agree to anyway... £746 a month. How about... no?

    ...noooooooooooooooooooooooope.

I do want away from Tsohost, but the need for multiple mailboxes makes it problematic [and/or expensive].

Front-runner at the moment is Stratagem Hosting, which promises 25GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited databases, unlimited domains, unlimited mailboxes for £5.99 plus VAT a month - and offered me a 10% rolling discount. I need to check that they offer SSH access ('cos I like being able to SFTP my files across and SSH in to delete/rename/edit things when WordPress b0rks itself) - but it does appear to be a two-man company, as far as I can tell, despite claims of having a "team" and "staff." Their own website is hosted on OVH, too, suggesting they're probably just an OVH reseller or using OVH's cheapo VPSes.

The other one that replied was Cloud Above, which is a little indie outfit based out of Kernow. £5 a month gets you unlimited various things, including mailboxes, and SSH access - but only 10GB of storage and five domains/websites. If you want more storage and unlimited domains, that's £12 a month (both prices excluding VAT). It does come recommended, though, while I can't actually find anyone who uses Stratagem... Their website is hosted by iomart, so they're probably hosting on iomart VPSes.

I'm spending this week running around like an idiot doing all of the odd jobs that I've been putting off, for the sake of someone else's benefit, getting the house ready for viewings and photos at the end of the week.

I'm sure I can count on another scorcher when it comes to moving day though.

31.2°C in the office now. Bleedin' hell.

Now, GNOME Weather says it's 25.9°C in Bradford right now, so if it's 31.2°C in the office that's a 5.3°C delta-T. The Met Office says it's going to peak at 32°C exterior temperature tomorrow, so if the delta-T holds the office will hit 37.3°C.

Bugger that for a game of soldiers.

was 36.6c in the shed last night with 50% humidity. Doge may melt tonight or tomorrow. Also spent 8 hours trying to fix and issue which was fixed in 30 mins of reading the manual...
