I do appreciate a good looking car, but don't you think you are overdoing it a bit Unicorn?

Residual feelings, still want her. Stupidly being attached.

Outside of feeling kinda down because I became attached, well nothing really.

I've spent that last 3 hours trying to get some form of decent sound out of my guitar, and nothing. **** all. I haven't played in just under 2 months and I'm playing worse than someone who's never seen a guitar before.

you should take a trip to canada and come here and clean my car. I'd love to have it polished to be super awesome like your car WAS. For a 6 year old car the paint is in incredible condition. Less than 6 tiny paint chips on the whole car. Maybe 2 or 3 that are noticeable. A few scuffs but none that couldnt be buffed out.

I just don't have the knowledge or skills to polish the car to get it real good. I think I do a decent job when I wash it. I only use microfiber towels to clean it. I wash it every 2 -4 weeks. But I would love to have it waxed and polished to be perfect like how you do.

So if you ever come out here, I will pay you to clean my car. :D

It's not a huge deal to me. Personally I think youre maybe over reacting a bit, but I want to keep the car in as good or better condition than when I bought it. Currently it is in better condition than when I bought it. In 1-2 years it will probably be worth more than what I owe on it actually. :thumb:

Overreacting? Absolutely not. I am a very particular person about several things, the two biggest being my work and my car. The reason I am so particular about my work is because it represents and is my livelyhood and my reputaion. I do not do second-rate work and try my best to do everything related to my job as well as possible because I want to be successful. I am extremely particular about my car for a few reasons. First and foremost, it is almost new. It's less than 6 months old with just under 8K miles on the clock, and I still have that "new car" feeling about it. On a related note, there is no excuse whatsoever for a <6 month old car to have swirl marks, scores, dents or scratches on it. That represents a total lack of care for the vehicle and carelessness by the owner. Why do I care about the paintwork so much? Because I am a painter. If I let a shiny new gloss black computer with a mirror finish on it be washed or polished with gritty or abrasive materials before going to the customer I would have some very unhappy customers. It ruins the finish and makes the product look cheap. I know exactly what is good and what is bad for car and PC paint finishes. I know what makes a car or case look amazingly shiny or ridiculously scratched. When I see a dirty car the first thing I think is "that could do with a good wash" just like everyone else. When I see a clean car though, I see the paintwork exposed to the elements, and I look at the condition of the paintwork. Stone chips, scratches, scores and swirl marks stand out to me as much as a brick through the windscreen of a car would. If you saw a car from my perspective, you'd understand why what happened to my car annoys me so much. I know exactly how to look after paintwork perfectly and as a result I strive to do just that... whether it's my black Renault Clio or my gloss white racing striped Antec 300... it's paint, and it needs to be looked after properly.

Maybe after all that you still think I'm overdoing it, but the fact is that almost 11 months ago I wrote off and destroyed a car that I really loved. I had it for almost three years before crashing it and in that time, I marked the paintwork on it in several places, which (obviously) annoyed me greatly and put it through roadside car washes which kept it clean, but scored the paintwork as well. When I bought the new car, I promised myself to be more careful both with how I drive it and how I treat the paintwork. It's not yet fully paid for and that makes it even more important to me to keep the paint finish in pristine condition. It's not just about how the car looks... it's about respect. I respect the car and know that if I keep it in good condition it's value will hold a little better and when I come to change it (hopefully in less than 24 months time - before the full mfr. warranty runs out) I will get a good trade value or price for it and the next owner will get a two or three year old car that looks less than a year old. The phrases "It's only a -------" or "Who cares as long as it's clean" mean absolutely nothing to me. The condition of the paintwork is what's more important.

Dad recently changed his car. A three year old (2007) Ford Mondeo Titanium. It was destroyed by gritty sponge washes over those three years, and the pearlescent black paintwork looked like spiders webs on a sunny day or under brght lights. When Dad mentioned a couple of months ago that he was hoping to change the car before the end of the year, I started working on the paintwork, and over a period of about 6-8 weeks I had the Ford looking brand new or better. It took a 6 stage process on every body panel to remove the scratches, scores and chips that about 3 years of sponge washes and lack of professional care had left behind... but it was worth it. When he traded it in two weeks ago for a Vauxhall Insignia SRI, the dealership manager who dealt with the sale (and who also sold us both my Renaults) remarked at how clean, well polished and scratch free the paintwork on the old car was considering it's age. According to the book, it put the trade value up around £500.

A good builder knows bad bricklaying when he sees it, and knows how to do it better. A good seamstress knows bad stiching when she sees it, and knows how to do it better. A good custom PC builder knows poor craftmanship when he sees it, and knows how to do it better. I know bad paintwork and bad paint care when I see them, and I know how to do them better. How are any of those different?

And for the record, that was an exaggeration. I'd look after it just the same as any other car.

I did think that. As I said, I was exaggerating because I was in such a bad mood :(

Because I can't quote qoutes for some retarded reason...

You couldn't be more wrong right there man..

Some some ****ed up reason I felt the need to express my feelings. And now? Well, I've just spent the last hour talking to her, and she doesn't know how she feels.

Her words? "I've gone out with so many rugby players" etc... Yeah, thanks, **** you, me being slim, **** you. this while being a nerd ****, **** it. I'm done with it, being caring? **** it. It hasn't got me anywhere, everything I've tried, it hasn't worked. I like this girl more than you care to imagine... Yet.. I don't know..

I'm going to keep working on this, but... I don't know, I think I'm going to be a man and actually have a good old break down for a few hours...

    :'(

After 6 months, every time I have some free time I end up thinking about that same girl. That feeling of being terribly disappointed is just shattering.

Yeah, it seems to stop me from quoting quotes too. Bad times.

As for your situation, really? So she's saying you're not built the same way as her past boyfriends and it's putting her off because you're not built like a Goron? Shallow so-and-so.

Just let her get on with her life. Hopefully she'll realise how bad it sounds basing her decision off looks/build (especially when it sounded like she was in to you enough that she wanted to go to that nature reserve when you suggested it), and maybe come round. In the mean-time, you've got every reason to feel a little bitter, but don't let it get you down. And if all else fails, you've got that shiny geetar to keep you occupied in the meantime!

Really need to ban myself from here when I'm drunk... >.<

I'm not gonna give up on anything with her just yet. I'll keep working at it, but as for bitter? Yeah, badly. Oh well, I'm gonna see what happens and all.

    As for the guitar?...............................

Hey, what does misery love, MaverickWill? :p

    Also:

Reading comments that use "rediculous" instead of the correct "ridiculous".

It's ridiculous that they can't look at "rediculous" and think it looks ridiculously incorrect.
