Funny story, one of our other sites had to be closed for a few days. Basically the building next door had the toilets refurbished. Somehow this caused a blockage which broke through the wall on the first floor or our building.
The sewage then poured out across the open plan floor and leaked through and came out the ceiling into the reception area of the ground floor below.

The front of my watch just seemed to 'pop' off!
Got the acrylic 'front' and a metal ring, hope that's everything and maybe I can take it somewhere to get it fixed :(
(sorry for the poor photo, quickly taken at work, so you can touch the face directly now)

My dad was an EHO and we used to love watching that. He'd tell me all sorts of stories of things they'd found. He once inspected a butchers with a new recruit/trainee and there was a large chest freezer with a pad lock on it. My dad requested to see the contents amd the owner refused, saying it was for personal use and nothing to do with the shop. But being a freezer in a butchers my dad insisted or he'd shut the shop there and then, so the butcher unlocked the freezer to reveal his vast and extensive porn collection, which he was ordered to remove immediately.

A large chest freezer with a padlock on it that someone with access to butchery equipment refuses to open... I think finding a porn collection in it is just about the best case scenario.

Back early from our two-day trip. The hotel was so far away from what the pictures promised, at breakfast we got moldy cheese and cream cheese that's been off for more than a month, the town we stayed in was just plain depressing (at least we now know why they praise the landscape around it so much.... nobody would want to look at that poor excuse for a town), the whole area felt like people don't care about it and just let it all fall apart. Pretty depressing, so we left.

    Life :wallbash:
S'been a funny old year, full of ups and downs, but with stuff that's been bubbling under the surface finally breaking free and rearing its ugly head.

So despite being a life long hater of medication I now find myself on sleeping pills and anti-depressants just to stop me doing something daft to myself or the next a-hole who winds me up.

If you ever go to Madeira on holiday, my old man can fix that easy. He does that for a living.

Having zero sleep after a stint in A&E last night. Permanent headache for over a week. Ended up walking out before I got seen because I had work, at 9 and was looking at over 3 hours wait before I could be seen. So I'm making an appointment with my GP to try and fix it.

Future mother in law again....her father is soon to pass away and she'll be sat on a hefty inheritance in the region of a £125k, very sad time for all involved.

Problem is she and her brother are content on bleeding him bone dry while he is still alive for all the things they want, new double glazing, cars, appliances, furniture. then they flaunt money as if they've earned it, Its continued offers to buy things like its nothing to her thats bothering me, we discussed the need for things in privacy and my partner passes it on in conversation. "Mums offered to buy this" or "Mums paid my credit card off" and "Mums paying for my driving lessons" "Mums going to give me this money" its like she feels we're entirely incapable of looking after ourselves... none of these things are essential.

We had an argument the other day when she said "Mums offered to give us £5k towards a mortgage if we're short when the time comes, But she'll want to see if first though before she gives us any money" while I appreciate the gesture, I flat out refused, I won't have someone decide where we buy because she has some form of stake in it. what if she doesn't like the area? Will I be given criteria to follow... How many bedrooms can we have? Am I allowed a garage/man cave or is that a no no?? How will I need to do the garden? How often will they be required to come around per month as return on investment?.....

I'm sick of hearing about money, I work my fingers to the bone for her to throw money in the air she hasn't earned like she can just buy respect and love, its all fun and games until something doesn't go her way and its spat back in my partners face. I've bitten back before and I'll do it again if I have to.

Ah man, this gave me massive anxiety, reminds me of my ex-wife and her family as they were controlling but in oh so subtle ways.

I have no words of advice but you have my sympathies and I wish you good luck in all the battles to come

Not ruining my life but definitely causing my blood pressure to rise: Amazon.de asks for 305 Euros for the Nintendo Switch and 329 Euro for the "new version". Why do they always do that in Germany? A newer version is supposed to just replace the current one at the same price != A newer (more expensive) version is supposed to just replace the current one which stays at the same price. FFS, Germany, how I do hate you more and more every day.

You'll always get morons like that, I put up something recently on another platform about handlebar tape. Instead I got people criticising my choice of brake cable. You literally cannot win.

Office AC is out of order, it's oppressively humid for me, I sit in the exact middle of the office and the breeze from the windows doesn't reach me, so now I have to take two showers per day, due to being a 20+ stone blubberbeast. That said, tepid showers are an amazing cure-all though
