Not ruining so much, but just head-banging-on-wall-frustrating.

Recruiting for a contractor in the US, so a job spec is posted a system, then a bunch of suppliers put candidates forward for the role, with their CVs and so on, and I can schedule interviews from there.
I'm in GMT, they're not. So I request an interview with a time window, and it's in GMT. This should be fine, because the request says "3-4PM GMT", except it's not because the suppliers apparently see "3-4PM" and either stop reading, or don't understand time zones.

So I've changed my location in my profile in the system to prevent this next time around, but now I have phone interviews scheduled for stupid times this week.

Or possibly don't understand that countries exist outside of the US? "You're in England? You mean New England right?"

Par for the course when dealing with 'mericans I have found, you are doubly f****d in that you are dealing with recruiters (AKA scum sucking bottom feeders).

You see that's where you're wrong. You're a 'murican that's actually managed to leave the country. You're possibly dealing with people who have never left their state... There's a huge difference

I grew-up in a village on The Mendips and there were older people there who had never been as far as Bristol.

I could cycle to the outskirts of Bristol in around half an hour...

I'm originally from Norfolk (no I don't have webbed toes) and there are a good number of people there who have never left Norfolk, let alone have a passport. My Mum has never driven on a motorway, simply because they have no motorways in Norfolk (she has actually left Norfolk I hasten to add, just never driven herself outside of Norfolk).

Americans get a lot of flack for not "seeing the world" but hot damn. There is basically every climate within their boarder. Yes, there should be a drive to see other places, but there's practically nothing you can't do staying within the United States. I can definitely see how some of them don't have passports or a desire to travel.

Here in Europe it's not so easy. Although, having spent a week there, I firmly believe everyone should leave Norfolk regardless. Webbed feet or not.

There are lovely people in every country, you just tend to hear the ranty gammon faces shout the loudest.

Listen for the faint 'sighs' and palm slaps to the head - there you will find the nice sane people.

Being half Canadian I just like to poke fun at folks from south of the border. All in good fun, eh?

Trying to recursively process and shred XML in SQL Server. These things are bad enough on their own in SQL Server, but trying to combine the two is melting my brain.

A Canadian poking fun at another country - that's funny in itself :p :)

It would be remiss not to poke fun at the people who voted for Trump.

Indeed. The Tory party members who voted the Boris in as leader, have a lot to answer for.
