    Can't really relate either, tbh!

My other half has always worked full time, but even when I've worked from home in the past and she happens to be off, I have always been very clear with boundaries. If I'm working at home then that means I'm working; I can't do odd chores round the house here and there, I can't just pop out to run errands, I can't just say sod it and finish half day, etc... Since lockdown the pair of us have been working from home and that's pretty much a two-way street - if she's working then it means she's working.

Neither of us can stand working on the dining table for more than a day or so though, so it does mean that we have to share the same room for 8/9 hours a day... Can be a bit of a nightmare if we both need to be on separate calls at the same time, but if it's that bad then one of us will usually just unplug the laptop and go to a different room.

It does help that we also don't have any kids...

Whoops, missed this, so I'm double-posting.... sue me.... ;)

Oh yeah I know I'll get my money back eventually, but it's just frustrating as hell to be given the run-around so much. This morning eBay said they'll keep the case on hold until Sunday to allow the seller to make this right and that I should message him again today. I wasn't expecting eBay to give me the run-around so much either! I'm doing all the damn work here and I'm the one who is down a couple hundred quid ffs!

Fine, I'll do what eBay asks, because I'm not risking the refund. Though it will indeed be a very expensive lesson for the seller in how to not piss people around.

my friend who is a vet, invested in a full chainmail set for when he has to wash 'uncooperative' animals, especially cats. he said it was money well spent.

i dont get why lillies being toxic to pets is not a more widely known fact tbh, i wonder how many pets lose their lives early because of it..
hopefully kitty should be ok, if a little upset at this new acquaintance with water

I'm going to have to phone my parents as soon as possible. My mother likes Amaryllis lilies. Fortunately she keeps them on the window sill, which is probably why doge hasn't had an episode.

Bought some hold fasts for the work bench, design for 20mm holes or T Track, they dont fit my 20mm bench hole an are too tall for the track

I don't know if you can get similar for 20mm holes, these are for 19mm but, I use these Grammercy holdfasts, just hit with a mallet to hold, hit again to release and effectively unbreakable:

Bought them from Dieter Schmidt Fine Tools.

I am putting a contract out on the person responsible for this:

A pack of cookies for them dead, two packs if alive so I can teach them some manners first. Interrupting my air guitaring/drumming/singing whilst listening to heavy metal is practically a war crime in my book.

Printer saga has continued... Buyer contacted customer services claiming he can't print the label. eBay have come back saying I have to pay return postage (totally fine as its in my returns policy anyway). Still pushing hard for the refund without return... probably going to lose this one which is a bit annoying in fairness. I think I should just swallow my pride and let it go

Part of me doesn't have the energy to fight it and maybe this is a really hard lesson learnt, pay the refund, accept some shitty feedback and move on. Let him enjoy the spoils and laugh at how far someone will stoop to avoid paying for a printer.

Going down the route of providing a QR code for return postage but I'm sure he'll claim he doesn't have a phone to take to the post office.... Then he doesn't live near a post office or a public transport route....

Starting to come to the realisation maybe this is all a bit too much, the last 3 days have been none stop. I've got so much stuff to ship out and yeah thats great money wise its just relentless, this particular chap has really got my knickers in a twist and I don't want my days off in a mood for stupid **** like this...

Try the Chrome extension Youtube NonStop. It works most of the time when the video is on the default size. It doesn't stop the popup, just automatically clicks yes for you so you might have a slight blip of silence.

Ah I didn't know you could get them over here, was a place doing cast iron ones which I full noped. Was that or some Sjoberg ST03's
Hole wise 19mm is fine the bench is 2X 18mm ply sheets so its not going anywhere! Half tempted to notch out a bit in each hole to just use these clamps, be the cheapest option an should still work.

Hope he's just a bit grumpy, poor sod.

Bloody buggers always getting stuff on them and licking it off.

I spent a good hour yesterday not letting ours in while she had a mouse in her gob. Tormented the hell out of it and yet it survived no matter how many times it ran back to the cat or me.

Cooker was like that. You couldn't keep the bugger out ! I'd be lying in the bath having a soak and all of a sudden you get his paws in your balls and the loud noises in your earhole. Proper little sods for water they are !

I've suffered a two day delay because of it FFS.

I ordered a 3tb drive and new reservoir last week. Last Friday, IIRC. Three days went by and nothing. Then I realised my buying account is linked to an email address I no longer check. I still have it, and I can't change it (because it is linked and I would lose free shipping). So I checked it, the hard drive was out of stock.

I emailed them on Tuesday (webnote) saying "Please refund the drive as it is not important but please send the res ASAP". Nothing. Today I checked again and it hadn't been shipped. Of course all day yesterday I couldn't contact them at all, so it's cost me another day.

Finally it has been shipped out today.

It's irritating because if I go home without it I either need to stall the entire upgrade until I come back and go home again, or pay £30 in taxis (the res cost £38 ffs). I can't just build what I have and then easily change the res later.

Former id Software staffer. The final boss in Doom II had a hidden room behind it with his head on a spike - while you were shooting the boss, your bullets were actually going through and hitting Romero's head. Plus backmasked audio which played forward said "to win the game you must defeat me, John Romero." (From memory, might not be exactly right.)

He left id Software with Tom Hall and they founded Ion Storm, then figured he'd make his own game - Daikatana. Complete flop. Absolute disaster. He blamed negative pre-launch media coverage, but I played the demo on a PC Gamer coverdisc before ever reading anything inside the mag, and I hated it too.

Just got some terrible news :(

The coder of an emulator I used for over twelve years has passed away. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know him as closely as I did.
