Whenever I'm struggling like that I tend to try to little and often approach rather than just blasting away.

As for what's ruining my life at the moment is a call from my partner of over 5 years Saturday morning, who's currently abroad saying she doesn't know if she wants to come back and doesn't love me in the same way anymore... (two weeks earlier whilst she was still out there she was asking me to organise some wedding stuff...)

Managed to agree that we need to discuss this in person but still, was a very unpleasant weekend. Just had a family member die suddenly so I'm kind of hoping it's grief doing weird things. :(

I work for one of the contractors and there have been quite a lot of plans recently for new build. Some of it seems to even have had some thought put into it, with attempts made to have orders for fibre blowing being available before the duct is fully down so there is less delay between the stages. Obviously, dependent on your local contractor, it may not always go exactly to plan.

Better to quit while you're ahead. Did you see what happened to Metallica? It's like watching a horror show.

I don't know, that Blizzcon performance was hilarious, like that moment in a comedy movie when the a-hole boss finally gets his comeuppance.

But we didn't think the draconian automated copyright system would apply to us too...

And, before they become another zimmer band, like The Rolling Stones, what's left of Pink Floyd, etc.

Some say Daft Punk retired years ago, and it's been Bill & Ted under those helmets for a while now. :p

Nowt wrong with a good ol'zimmer band, it just means it really was their way of life.

But nothing wrong with calling it quits when you've had enough either.

Just did a HDD to 256GB SD card & bigger battery swap on my ipod 5th Gen.
All worked but case weasn't quite aligned perfectly, so I popped it back open and pushed it back in to place.
Pushed in the wrong place & the LCD broke :(

Back to the drawer with it until a new LCD arrives

The good news is the line has been fixed so I'm not getting a constant drop out. The sad thing is I'm only getting 0.67 meg down and about 0.34 up. SKy claimed it would take 24 hours for my speeds to recover, its been more than that now and I'm on the slowest connection ever. I have a feeling that the line has now stabilized at those speeds and I won't get any faster. Going to have a massive whinge at Sky and see if I can get out of this contract as this stinks, big time.

It may be that they have done a temporary reroute through other equipment just to restore service while they fix it properly and in a week or so it'll go back to normal. Best of luck whinging at them though, could always threaten that you'll leave for gigaclear as they're in the area now.

    More irritating than life ruining.
Been messing around with electronics again. That's good. Discovered that my 24 V DC 30W power supply is faulty and will only deliver ~12W :( I'd bought the supply a while back specifically for this project, but life got in the way the the project was shelved, so I cannot return the unit. Was so excited to finally get back to this project and I cannot even get to 50% load.

Sliced the tip of my thumb open when trying to diagnose what was wrong with an old laptop (no real reason, just wanted to see if I could coax some life out of it).

Cut itself is pretty small but is right in the position where I keep catching it on everything. Also getting soap in the cut itself.... :eeek::eeek:

I've had "Laisse tomber les filles" stuck in my head all morning, but I don't know the lyrics, nor do I speak French.
