Hawthorne, my cat, passed away from pyrethrin poisoning this morning. It appears Karen's brother got high, sprayed ant killer and she got in it.

12 years old. Last living link to my son. Don't know what I'm gonna do.

Looks like it was exposure over time. Still hurts like hell.

Sales department VP wants a statement on how a newly appointed Director is treating me and making me feel towards my future here, few other senior staff are doing the same.
Not a nice feeling but the Director is destroying my professional confidence shooting down my reponses to situations and adding people to emails who have no place being copied in and ignoring instructions to utilise junior staff who I support with work.

I think the guys up for the chop if not careful, his salary off the books would help the departments bottom line alot.

Spent the entire weekend trying to sort out the office. Three massive bags of recycling, four of rubbish (mostly cables), big box of stuff off to CEX, some smaller stuff off to forum members... and it's still an absolute tip. The hell?

Cheers, together for 5+ years and engaged, been a rough year.
Hopefully we'll chat about things and I'll try to get some clarity and we'll be able to move forwards amicably.

My ageing desk chair (that has been patched up numerous times) broke last night and dumped me onto the floor. One of the legs that the wheels attached to broke, dropped the wheel out and tipped the chair. Got a huge bruise on the back of my right hand now, a seriously stiff and aching left wrist and my back is screaming at me. Dosed up on several pain killers, but feeling soooo bad right now.

$%&£ing jumbo frames, and being disabled by default, even on a 10g switch.

Most of last night and this morning has been taken up by troubleshooting an intermittently dodgy ESXi server. It's been mothballed for around 6 months since moving house and finally racked up once again. Hanging web console, unable to connect, timeouts, can see the storage one second and not the next. Tried just about everything I could think of and was about to reinstall thinking maybe the microSD has gone flaky and then I saw it.

The NAS was what I was worried about, after being sitting in a box for so long - I needn't have been, everything spun right up no problems.
