Yup had the same issue with Fedex. Ordered a package from Bitspower in TW. First it said it would be delayed by a day. I think all told there were like 5 delays so I just gave up checking. Arrived on day 8 IIRC, which I was still super happy with.

FedEx is doing my new workstation the same way. Plus I'm right close to where the guys threw packages into a ravine rather than deliver them.

Seriously, it's not that hard to just deliver the package.

Didn't get the job I interviewed for yesterday. Got really nervous and fluffed it. Would normally ace interviews, I've only ever once not been offered a job before, and even then they'd had to have a 3rd interview to decide between me and another person. Must have done pretty **** to have been chucked out the morning after. ****ing bollocks! :sigh:

Or, the CEO's idiot nephew was already promised the job, because nepotism?

Speaking as one who has worked in the public sector: *absolutely* in the public sector.

I know I smegged the interview. My brain had absolutely abandoned me, took me way too long to get examples for the questions, on one of them I forgot what I was talking about halfway through.

I'm sure this was said tongue in cheek, but seems like a particularly unhealthy "why bother trying because it's out of my hands" sort of outlook.

Kudos to @The_Crapman for owning it.

    Java.

Why oh why did they pick Java as the language of choice for a module called "Principles of Programming". Such a horrible language.

    Manflu is lingering.

Sick enough to stop me from being 100%, not sick enough to not work.

:thumb: Also I'm not sure how I'd have coped to be honest. Trying to stay at a desk doing this article has been pure torture. Forgot how much this dam nerve could hurt.

Would a standing desk help? I've a cheap IKEA manual one, or you can get boxes to go on an existing desk and lift stuff up to the right height.

(Admittedly, I never use my IKEA desk in standing mode these days... but I could. If I replaced the too-short Ethernet cable I attached as a temporary fix for a longer broken one... three years ago.)

I'm not sure if it would help, can't stay on my feet too long either  I'm stuck in an awkward position where I'm capable of doing pretty much anything for short periods, but can't sustain it or repeat it. I scored nil poi on the pip assessment and declared fit for work by dwp because I can wash and dress my self and get some milk from the corner shop, but that doesn't stop the searing pain in my groin that drops me to the floor with little to no warning.

That's the usual excuse for turning people down who have mental health problems, although I have won every appeal I have made.

Sit-stand desk like mine would allow you to do a bit of work standing, then switch to sitting, and back again. Could help. You might want one of the more expensive motorised ones if you're going to be chopping and changing every half-hour, though.

While mine is more physical, it has massively impacted me mentally, but they don't take into consideration (or don't appear to, that lockdown and lack of proper has rendered a lot of the possible problems mute.

I've got my eye on this vonhaus one. Can take a fair bit of weight, get worktop piece for it fairly cheap, but in a catch 22 of need money to buy, need item to work. :duh:

Get the Ikea handcrank one and a strong battery operated screwdriver.
