Did you know you can get privacy screen protectors that stop your phone screen from being viewed off axis?

Who watches porn at work? Fine, maybe some folk do on a quiet nightshift at a remote location, but in the office?

Maybe a plane as there was a very large rudder.

He should probably put those on so no one sees him reading all the Daily Mail articles he obsessively goes through.

The type of person that sleeps on his break, then says another person can go on their break, then has a tantrum when said person goes on their break, storming down the stairs shaking his head at such idiocy, because it's interrupting his sleep.

He must have read his job description through bleary eyes that morning.

Woke up feeling a bit rotten yesterday, couldn't face lunch, then started getting muscle pains and a high fever. Ended up just going back to bed.

Fever's lower today, but I still feel rough as - and now I've yesterday's work to do on top of today's. Bah.

I'm temporarily in charge of heat treatment at work as all the operators are out for various reasons. Not officially trained, but hey ho.

Today I decided to climb into the vacuum furnace as I noticed some ceramic spacers had fallen to the bottom of the chamber, and wanted to fish them out. I was leaning on a large ceramic heating element. Turns out ceramic heating elements aren't load bearing. And snap.

Waiting on a quote for a replacement part, but our general manager estimates it in the 5 figure territory. Also, we were already behind and now have to subcon heat treatments.

I always seem to overcomplicate things that are simple, it’s like yo weekly_estimate it’s really that simple, stop overthinking it.

That kinda explains why I seem to code a lot better when I’m absolutely knackered.

Let me know if you crack that one, I've been trying to figure out how to not do that for years.

On the flipside I'm good with complicated stuff, some stuff my mind has to conjure up a gazillion hurdles no matter how remote the possibility of them happening.

Not ruining, but burning my leg on my bike exhaust has wrankled my inner calm, still it's my own fault, shorts and all that.

The complete and utter randomness of Epic Games download rates. 900Mb/s connection (ooo fancy) and getting circa 3MB/s download rate (20GB update for CP 2077). Meanwhile Steam happily pegging connection @ 114MB/s....

Heh meanwhile as I finish typing this it has shot back up to 80MB/s...

Note - more funny than annoying as its just like transferring different file types across a 1Gb/s LAN connection. Saying that trying to explain to people why they see dips when transferring data is cause for needing to connect my head with the nearest wall...

Bought loads of meat from Tesco on the 7th, just checked the expiry dates which were for the next day. What a complete waste.

edit: yeah next time I'll check the expiry dates, but you'd presume it last longer than a damn day.

My wife orders food from supermarkets to be delivered. What we've found is they give you products that are near the use before dates whereas when you shop in store you can get the products that have a longer use before date on them. They are using basic stock rotation, getting rid of the older stuff first, but it is annoying when you get products with such a short life in them. A big freezer can compensate for that though. ;-)

They all do it, we've been pulling stuff off shelves to get to the stock at the back so you can buy stuff to last the week for years.
And don't take expiry dates as being the gospel, if it don't smell right bin it, if it smells ok it probably won't kill you if cooked properly

    Same.

As for dates, I never use them to tell me if something can still be eaten or not. It's a good rough guide but nothing more.

I always ask my dates. It's only polite, but a good sense of smell also helps.
