Insurance companies, in this case specifically breakdown companies.
Auto renew price offered through email £225
    Direct quote price £218
    Comparison site price £95

Why the ever living **** can't they just offer a reasonable, decent price in the first place

Insurance companies are scam artists, I had incident at home where my front patio door got a bit stuck on something, I wiggled it and it came out of frame and fell on the floor, smashing the glass, bending the door, I had accidental damage on my policy so called them up to enquire, 5 mins later an insurance policy bump came through because of the call, I didn't even claim at that point and was thinking of doing myself once I weighed up the premium bump and excess .....but as they put my insurance up for it anyway I thought I may as well claim now as its already on my record and will be impacting future premiums

£95 is good, go for that if you are not loosing any useful features.

Because many people will just let it ride, i.e. moan about the cost but, do nothing about it, despite it being so easy to shop around these days.

95 quid is a steal, personal cover for 3 people with nationwide recovery, and it's with the same company for the same features.

It's five years today that my mother passed away. I've been struggling harder than usual with it.

I wanted to take the day off today to focus on myself, but too many important meetings plus holiday season (covering for multiple people) make that impossible.

Well, I'll survive but I won't enjoy today.

Complete **** show of a day that started with the analysis of 1,000 entries of Project data (invoices not posting costs correctly), continued with our work neighbour cutting through the business fibre line and culminated in me hunched over my laptop in the server room trying to get our PF Sense box to talk to the old Draytek to get the old backup line working.

Tomorrow won’t be better as I found out just before the fibre line was cut that all the invoice entries for July haven't posted costs to projects, thus I have a lot more than 1,000 entries to analyse (no easy way to do this due to the structures in place). That coupled with being the main point contact for getting the intervener back up and running and waiting for the Fibre engineer to be on site AND dealing with the inevitable “is the internet back yet??” will lead to me not being in a very good mood.

Plus my coffee went cold and being in a haze I took a big gulp…

Your day was going bad, but then you took a gulp of cold coffee. That would've been the end of me. Stay strong!

No ADHD meds for a week.

I ran out last Friday and the weekend was by far the worst, but I still feel like utter trash. Hard to say whether I’m still feeling withdrawal effects, but I’m already noticing how much of a difference the medication makes. Serious emotional dysregulation, almost complete inability to wake up on time, very hard to switch focus and get back on track… all the old ways I got so familiar with… Couple that with serious lethargy, exhaustion, and brain fog, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a super happy fun time. (I can’t tell if these latter symptoms are a result of medication withdrawal or just the same old crap I had pre-medication/diagnosis, but either way the net result is the same.)

Partly my own fault because I didn’t order a repeat in time, but every time I’ve done this in the past I’ve been able to get meds sent out within a couple of days. It’s now been exactly a week. And in my defence, I’m still getting private treatment so this **** is expensive - it costs £65 just to have a repeat prescription drawn up and the medication usually costs about £130. So I spend about £200… per month. It was £175 for the medication this month because the normal dose is out of stock and they’ve had to double-up on a lower dose.

Gonna chase up the pharmacy later today. I paid on Tuesday and normally they send stuff within a day via Royal Mail Special Delivery, so I was hoping to have had it already. But we’re still in a major medication shortage (hence why my normal dose was out of stock) so that could be jamming a big ol’ spanner in the works again.

At 3:30 this afternoon I had almost finished painting the lounge. (Although this is a picture from last night)

I just had put put a final couple of coats on the chimney breast as there were a few bits showing through. Only I got this odd bubbling occurring. Tried popping and painting over, but only made it worse, tried a heat gun to see if I could shrink them back down, but just hardened like chickenpox on the wall.

All the paint back to the primer scraped off like sun-burnt skin.

I think what's happened is I used a dehumidifier to help dry it, but that combined with the heat cured the top of the paint and didn't allow it to dry properly, as it was pretty damp coming off. But, while I'm at it I might as well take care of those bits that required additional layers, some of which were poorly filled holes that were bulging, the plaster being blown making them even more apparent. There was sealant and caulk and even cotton wool shoved in there, some with the rawl plug still in there even (not my doing). Unfortunately, the plaster decided to follow suit and remove itself from the wall along with the filling
    [IMG]

    From there things escalated quickly
    [IMG]

I should be sat on my new sofa, in the freshly painted lounge, but I'm sat on the floor in the office, 8 weeks after this was meant to be finished. Drained is not the word.

Don't feel too bad, I had a plasterer in to do a whole house replaster, and then a painter in about 4 weeks after. Turns out both needed redoing due shockingly shite workmanship. Lessons learned the hard way..

Urgh, still, you're doing the right thing. ScrewFix sell "bare plaster paint" that I've had good results with, it's like a slightly thicker emulsion but it does well on, eh, bare plaster.

Aye @The_Crapman it's annoying when you try and do a good job and discover you have to solve problems caused by previous 'qualified' workmanship.

Hang in their bud. Trust me, I know how frustrating it is.

Was interrupted mid shower last night to my partner in an extreme panic. “Somethings got in the house!”

Immediately could hear our Guinea Pig letting out some fairly bloodcurdling screams from the living room. Jumped out starkers to find a small ferret had got in the house and in his cage. He had bitten into him but I don’t think to skin as I got him off fairly quickly.

Little **** then bit me a few times on each hand until I restrained him by the neck. Threw him outside and closed the door and went to get dressed.

I realised it was not really solving a problem so went outside him still roaming and trying to find routes in. Little dickhead nipping at my toes by this point. After escaping through neighbours gardens I finally managed to catch him again many bites later…

So instead of going to work I’ve got to go to the doctors and the vets. Absolutely fuming, this isn’t the first time ferrets have got loose but never have they got into the house. Ended up posting the little ******* through the owners letter box. The owner doesn’t care, just some local drunk who can’t be arsed to take care of his animals.

If it comes back I’m boxing it up and taking it to the exotics vet 35 miles away and claiming I found it local there. Maybe someone will actually take care of it.

Up off and on all night with my life falling out of my arse.

No idea what that is, really painful intestines too.

At least the pain has subsided and it's just a dull ache now and I may be just about in control of my arse rather than vice-versa. May be.

    Absolutely starving though.

    Bodies are stoppid.
