My neighbours used to have chickens and they were positively charming. Quiet, calm, made my cat **** a brick when I left the kitchen door open and they wondered in to say hello. Plus it's weirdly nice to get up to go to work in the morning and be greeted by a line of chickens on the garden wall wanting petting before they'll let you leave.

It's a real shame, because YouTube "journalism" just doesn't do it for me whatsoever. And not to get all "old man yells at clouds" here, but the general state of tech journalism is absolutely bloody dismal (and I think to a large extent that could be extended to most forms of journalism actually).

Keep up the good work @Gareth Halfacree . There will always be a market for proper journalism.

You mean just regurgitating a press release verbatim isn't journalism?

No, no, that is best case these days. Most of them quote word for word, and still get it wrong.

Just been informed I am at risk of redundancy. Our current team of 4 will be going down to 1.
Whatever happens it's going to be crap, the 4 of us get along really well. We're getting fobbed of with the usual platitudes of 'nothing has been decided yet' and 'possibility of redeployment in the wider group'.
Just been approved for a mortgage too.

Of course. Though we are already doing the work of 6-7 people between us so, that is some fun maths.

A 2 Bore you say? I'll have do take a look at that video.
I only watched the Slowmo Guys with a 4 Bore last week and that was beastly...

They have 2 more big recoil rifles on the go, not sure if those are out yet. Seems a good Collab with Kentucky Ballistics

Yeah, I have been watching those. Looking forward to their video on the 950 JDJ. The 2 bore in the Armouries video is not strictly 2 bore, being that it is closer in bore diameter to the 4 bore that Kentucky Ballistics is using, but he does explain all that. It is a beautiful rifle though, not sure that I'd be too up for shouldering it though....

Is that Jonathan Ferguson, the Keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history?

I'm glad someone mentioned Kentucky Ballistics & The Slow Mo Guys . Some absolutely insane firearms featured on those channels recently...

Scott is much less "in character" when he's on a Slow Mo Guys video, it's a nice change. When it's a video for his own channel he's a hell of a lot more... "extra" and "American", it's hard to watch sometimes.

It certainly is the excellent Jonathan Ferguson there.

Interesting to hear about Scott from KB, I've not watched his channel and did think he was more manageable on Slo mo than I was expecting.
So my initial prejudice would have been right had I lookedcat KB first.

Go and find the video where a .50BMG slap round exploded on him, he's a lucky SOB to be alive. And to be frank after that I think I'd ham up my Youtube personality to 11

    edit, here it is

I generally skip the first few mins of the KB videos as well as the last few. His shooting stuff is great fun though.

IIRC didn't the ammunition turn out to be fake and massively over pressure? Or did they never truly get to the bottom of it.
