I think that was the final take away, but there will always be questions about the gun too.

Stripped out a bolt hole in a brake caliper carrier on the car, none to be had at any local scrappies, bleedin' buggery fudgesticks.

Theoretically possible, but not keen into cast, and with it being one of only 2 bolts that hold the caliper on..... you know what, sod it, worth a go as I can get a kit tomorrow and have nothing to lose trying it before having my pants down at a dealers to get the replacement hanger

I don't believe a dealer would do that. Only last week I got a very reasonable price from a local garage to replace my drivers seatbelt. VW only wanted £400 for the belt, plus shipping from Germany.

Surprisingly the lad in the garage didn't order the belt as he thought it best to double check with me first.

VW are shocking. On our final service with them they were quoting several grand for stuff the local garage did for a few hundred.

    Something like
EMERGENCY, REPLACE IMMEDIATELY: Rear windscreen wiper £26,000

£80 quid for this part, not too bad, but the 2 slide pins, which are nothing more that 2 pins with an M9 thread at one end, 12mm diameter x 55 mm in length are £50+ each

Aliexpress order never arrived. Fedex tracking shows it obviously was delivered to some other address. Aliexpress is consistently asking me to "ask my neighbors if they have it" and denying me a refund. I'm now just going through Paypal.

A rug ordered through Wayfair was of incredibly low quality that I'm still in shock. I ended up returning it, but debated keeping it if Wayfair was willing to give me a substantial partial refund. The issues included; the rug arrived in a clear plastic bag with visible condensate on the inside; it was moist and smelled of a sheep upon opening; there was grit and dirt and both organic and inorganic stuff in the fibers of the rug, as if the wool hadn't been properly cleaned or processed before being turned into yarn; the wool fibers were so short and the yarn of such a poor quality that the rug was shedding and just kept shedding, filling my vacuum's canister 5+ times before I gave up and realized it was probably just going to shed itself out of existence. Once I found myself debating renting a rug doctor was when I realized I just needed to return the thing, but I hate the carbon impact of shipping a rug all around, and it was meant to go in my bedroom, a low traffic room, so the rug could have survived a good decade before eventually falling apart if I treated it gently. That said, it shouldn't exist. It's a horrible product at any price, but I wanted to see if Wayfair would rather give me the difference in price between what I paid and what the current price was (the price had dropped) plus the difference in what I assumed their return shipping would have been. Essentially, just make a good business decision instead of eating a loss. Their customer service rep, nor that person's supervisor had the power to do that, so I just returned it.

I rented a car through Hertz and it was a nightmare from beginning to end. I will never rent from Hertz again.

    edit: typo

We had a similar issue a while ago, not with Ali, it was Amazon. They kept sending us the proof of delivery picture that showed the parcel is a gold letterbox set into a white door. That's all well and good, but we have a silver letterbox set into a black door... Took ages to get it sorted out as the delivery company first said that they didn't know who delivered it. After pointing out that their drivers have handheld tracking systems and that their system would surely show what delivery it went out on, they then said that they had no way to get in touch with their drivers...

Got it sorted, but it was way more of a headache than it should have been.

My nose has been running like a tap since 5pm, the boy has been on school for four days and I've already caught the cold. Best get some brown liquor in me, and not anything nice like cognac, this calls for bourbon.

Nice! I'm having the last of the Jim Beam I bought on the boat, a litre for £10. I can't really taste it but at those prices I don't mind.

Chasing up a team about their GCP projects and their response is, and I quote: "I've never seen any of these."

Why is there no Eagle Rare on that shelf? It's delicious velvety vanilla heaven .....

It's a living shelf, the Jim Beam is gone at the moment, but there is a bottle of Eagle Rare and Woodford Double Oaked on there now.
