Done and dusted, picked up for £80 despite the stealership insisting it wasn't available as a sperate part and must be bought with the caliper :wallbash: having a print out of the Honda parts fiche soon dissuaded him of that notion :nono: and the OEM £50 slider pins were picked up from an online spares company for less than a fiver each.

Some absolute Unt on a motorbike has destroyed the pumptrack I spent most of 2017 and part of 2018 building. The police are involved but it's unlikely they'll be caught, even if they are it won't un-destroy the track.

Bloody binmen haven't taken my garden waste away for whatever reason.

And the car service came to £680, so that's dented my efforts to save money this month. And I'm going to need new front tyres by the end of next month.

I'd leave it out, sometimes they're just late and it goes the next day instead? Or have they done all the neighbours :hehe:

Different way of tracking our productivity (PRs, tickets completed, lines of code, etc.) which just doesn't align with the work my team does (especially me, running some fairly large audits). That and it sounds like we've been shielded from a lot of internal politics.

Just learned a recently-retired (9 weeks ago!) work friend had a heart attack on Saturday & passed away. :(

It's been a week or so since I've been able to sleep properly. First, it takes me ages to fall asleep, and then I wake up a few times. Every night.

One of the side effects of ADHD medication is occasional bouts of insomnia*. Doesn’t happen often, no more than once a month or so, but it’s bloody awful.

Long gone 1am by the time I actually got to sleep… and then woke up not long after 2am. Couldn’t get back off to sleep at all, by about 0315 I was close to getting up and taking the day off sick. Must’ve passed out at some point after that. And then of course I get up at 0600 when the alarm goes off…

So… about 3-4hrs sleep all told, yay.

*And no, it’s not because I’m taking a stimulant. The meds have long worn off by the time I’m going to bed, it’s because of a whole myriad of reasons involving cognitive load that I’m not going to go into right now.

Sleep? I remember that, nowadays I average less than 6 hours.
But of late my sleep has been very interesting, a new asthma med I've been put on has a wonderful side effect of inducing vivid dreams, nightmares and night terrors.

So far I've had the vivid dreams, which I seem to be able to remember for longer, with only one nightmare, but they're only dreams so no harm yet.

    Well… I can choose between:
    1. Feeling like a complete zombie after anywhere from 1pm to 4pm, completely exhausted and drained, never feeling rested, but sleeping as long as I like and being able to get to sleep no problem
    2. Not being mentally and physically exhausted by daily life, actually being able to do something besides simply existing when I get home from work, but not being able to sleep in and having the occasional bout of serious insomnia maybe once a month
On balance, I think I definitely prefer option 2!

    That's what's killing me.
Getting up at 06:00 regardless of need, getting up a time or 2 in the night for, erm, age related business, starts to take a physical toll pretty quickly.

You sure its a sprain and not a tear? Is it low near the ball or just behind the ankle? I had a moderate tear in one and a minor in the other at the end of last year. Took me ages to recover.

Hopefully you havent done any serious damage but look up Noninsertional Achilles tendonitis if your worried, mine felt like a swollen lump like a small grape in the tendon just behind the ankle on one achillies and slightly above the ankle on the other side. The area hurt when pinched and was really sore when the tendon moved to extremes (foot up or toes pointed down.

Going up and down stairs was agony but I had some physio, along with shockwave treatment to improve bloodflow and lots of exercise along with gradual loading increased means im (hopfully) fully recovered about 9 months later.

I assume your on your feet all day, so its not something you want to get chronic.
