You guys can still get booster jabs? We stopped doing them long ago in Germany because COVID is over.

    Yeah....

Yes, for over 65 years olds, some care workers and pregnant women by the look of it.

    Sounds a tough gig...
You're not due on 25th December by any chance?

And, as I understand it, if you have health conditions that put you at risk. My mother has chronic asthma and she gets offered boosters, but she’s not 65 yet.

5 to 64 year olds are covered by that. I can't have one at 60, because physically, I'm more or less up together. Osteoarthritis doesn't qualify as it doesn't put you at risk.

2 days off sick, 1 day annual leave, 2 days weekend, 1 day carer's leave, has my anxiety on my return running rampant!

Question: what is "Carer's Leave"? I ask as my folks are getting a bit doddery, and if this is what it sounds like, I might be interested.

    They're in Australia.

I think over here you're entitled to carers leave but it's unpaid AFAIK. Not that I know much about it TBH.

Absolutely distraught. Get out of second stage interview, only to realise my fly is half undone. This is such a me thing to happen, it should be funny, but I really wanted this job and I might have just blown it.

I can actually top that (not that it's a waving competition, it just could have been with both these stories). I went for an internal interview and decided to do a quick wee before going so that I was comfortable.

That's when my zip actually broke off.

Solution was to get a stapler as quickly as possible, (carefully) staple the embarrassing opening shut and wield an A4 notebook at waist height whilst on the move. In fairness, I had already worked with the new boss previously so it was more of a formality, but it did cause everyone in the room much ho-ho-ness. It might have even endeared me to them and got me the job, who knows..?

I still had to wield the A4 afterwards though, when I went to get replacement trousers that have never fitted properly.

If they didn't have to tell you to put the mouse back in the house, you'll be fine, bud.

I hope so. I might find out later on today, hopefully by the end of the week, being kept hanging over the weekend would not be fun.

This. Varies by company, I get 10 days paid a year to look after family. My place doesn't appear to track it though so I have no idea how much I've actually taken.

Speaking of work... The expactation that we spend more time working on our Jira accuracy than doing the actual work is killing me.
