Small Brain Disease/Vascular Dementia. Can I have cancer back please? At least that has the possibility of a cure.

Turns out, totally different undertaking that we're waiting on, but literally no one who knew this decided to update me -_- So in the same message I just had to apologise to the sales agent for being a massive pain last week, and then be all WTF this has been with your side for nearly 2 months!

Had to have one of our cats put to sleep today :(
    [IMG]
She was never the most social, and used to hide whenever anyone new came into the house, but she was such a loving cat, and never lost her kitten crazy.
spoilers to hide the details for the squeamish, or eating their dinner...
She had had a (benign) tumour in her mouth/jaw for a month or two, that was making it hard to eat, so we had been pureeing her food to lap, and giving her pain meds and steroids to keep her comfortable, but over the weekend the tumour had started to push her teeth out causing a lot of bleeding, and her to completely stop eating. so had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her to sleep...

This, this is why I really don't want there to be a god, because if there is he's a total ****ing dick and I'll won't be able to resist kicking him squar in the nuts.

(Like I'd get into heaven :hehe:)

And that puts mine into stark comparison, but this my therapy thread after all. Had to take Ralph to the vets today. Hurt his foot again, this time to the extent that his claw wont retract. Got to keep him in for a week and treat the foot with 2 different things. The first attempt at a clean resulted in a lot of scratches to me and making his toe bleed more. I may have also broken my toe in the process. If it hasn't improved by next week it might have to be amputated. He's so sad already and that's mostly just from the cone. :sigh:

Oof, remember getting that back in my uni days. After day 3 of no food and still somehow spraying out of every orifice, I was wondering if I should report to A&E just in case I was about to die or something. Luckily, day 4, I managed to get some soup into me without seeing it reappear a few minutes later.

@Big Elf @MadGinga my best to the both of you fine chaps.

Off to the hospital. The fracture in my spine is starting to aggravate spinal cord resulting in leg spasms and unable to walk. On top of everything else.

2024 has been a bit of a **** show for me!

Jeez @IamJudd , hope you get a period of time that is just 'boring'.

It's amazing how that can be a glorious memory when you're going through the mill.

Hope they can get you sorted so you can see the year out on your feet dude.

I'm ill today and so are both the kids, we've all slept all morning so it's not been too bad but our fridge freezer is getting replaced today so I've had to empty it into coolboxes, clear a path through the house and remove a door to facilitate it. I'm bushed from just that.

My mother had a fall at work, a forklift was parked where it shouldn’t have been and she tripped over the forks. Doesn’t sound like anything is broken, but she’s still in a lot of pain and has some swelling.

We’ve been in A&E for 5 hours. The waiting time was about 5 hours when we got here - not including the hour or so wait for triage - and it’s now around 8 hours. My feet and my knees are a wreck (I’ve literally only just sat down) and I’ve still got an hour or two of driving to do when we get out of here. At least I’ve got ??? hours to recover before I need to do that.

Had to leave about midnight, I got in about half an hour ago.

Had to tag my brother in (and pay for his ****ing taxi to get there because what little money he gets from disability benefits he spends on Warhammer plastic crack), so he’s there with her now. I was already dead on my feet when she called me at 1430; it’s a roughly 30 minute drive home from that hospital, so I was getting worried about falling asleep in the car on the way home.

She still hasn’t been seen by a doctor yet. We both got there at more or less the same time, about 1630. She was “triaged” a second time not long after 2300 and in the nurse’s words, “I’m sorry, you’ve got a looooong wait tonight”.

They’re both under strict instructions to call me at any time if it’s anything other than “you’re a bit bruised but you’re fine, rest up and take some painkillers”.

My 62 year-old mother, who has arthritis and multiple chronic health conditions, had a fall at work and is in pain all the way down the right side of her body; she’s been sat in A&E for nearly 9 hours, still hasn’t been assessed, and is being told that she’s still got a long wait yet.

This is neither the time nor the place to lament the state of the NHS, but…. god help you if you ever have to go to A&E at the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran.

    Yeah, that's poor.

On the other hand I know someone who had chest pains at 10am, called an ambulance at 10:30 and was in surgery by 1pm. The NHS is seems is still able to do the big stuff, just everything else is falling by the wayside :sigh:
