I assume you have access to your performance reviews?

Turned my PC on when I clocked off at 2 pm as the coolant in the res looked like it was settling a bit. Got back to it abouthour and half later and water in the res didn't look like it was moving :worried:

Log in, check the octo sensors, yeh says 24l/h, probably just really low flow as it's cold so pumps aren't spun up much. Realise I don't have any component temps on the octo sensor page, so go looking in the options, can't see the CPU temp, can't see the temp, that's not it, oh wait that's it, but why is it 96c? :eyebrow:

Quickly jump on hwmonitor, yeh **** that's ****ing burning, but GPU is fine. Check task manager and and there's no CPU activity and it's clocked down to 0.5ghz to save itself. Ramp the pumps to max, external pump kicks on, ok was just too low for that one as a different pump, temps should recover now. Temps don't recover. Have to squeeze the GPU tube to restrict its flow and force coolant through the CPU block (weird parallel loop) eventually temps start coming down. Phew.

Kick off furmark to put some actual heat through it, wait a while, GPU temps perfect, (40 core 60 hotspot) CPU warmed up to 50 but holding. Good, leave that for a while. Have a long shower as it's been a few days and need to de-stench, come back and CPU is back at 95, GPU temps high but expected furmark high. Have to do the tuby squeezy thing again to get CPU to come back down. Well, that's buggered then isn't it.

Need to get this pastel coolant out and get some clear in there. Was pretty old and had been sat a while, although unopened and shook till my arms hurt before using and passed through a coffee brewing funnel to catch any dodgy bits, but didn't get any. Might just be because it's been sat way too long, unable to game because shoulder pain, but pretty sure that's all gunked and needs a complete teardown. Joy.

Good luck. Something is not adding up here so I really hope that you can get this resolved amicably and to your satisfaction.

This sounds like it could be an mistake; either hr have sent you the wrong email in error, or that overall company performance means no increase or bonus for anyone, but hr dropped the ball and just sent out a "you crap" template.

If you've just had a performance review with your boss and he said it's been great, I would initiate that conversation with your boss just by forwarding that email and saying "it seems there had been a mix-up by hr, my performance review was great but I got the email below saying I underperformed, can you sort this out please." and add in any examples of KPIs you've hit/exceeded as backup. Don't ask why, state it as fact that it's wrong (politely) thus giving less wriggle room for a less than preferable outcome.

Second big heatwave of the summer. Absolutely grim in Sydney right now. At least it's not going to hit 48 like Google reckons the last one did.

To add a little balance, our marina was frozen over yesterday.

I reckon somewhere inbetween those two extremes lies a very pleasant place.

Just spent two hours walking to work, my boots let water in so my feet are soaked for the only person who can let me in before 12 to ring me to say his parents tried to drive to the air port and he went to meet them and is now stuck. Called my boss who said hunker down be with you later.

So currently frozen feet drenched and no where to.go get warm or new socks and boots

Got a text from work saying i didnt need to be in with the weather on friday, so set my alarm for a little later. Boss sent me a whats app, not a call, asking me to ignore it and come in as some switches and routers needed configured to get sent out and no one else was in. So i get in, later than normal, and theres 4 folk who could have done it. Wasnt best amused.

My mate in NSW texted me the other day from his pool when it was 36 degrees. But that was at 9PM.

    Stupid hot in that country.

Nottingham got hit somewhat variably with the snow. In some places there was almost nothing whilst down the road from there got a good load. Where I live we got about 8" which allowing for a little thaw just before dawn left us with 6-7" and as I had my laptop at home from working at home on Thursday, I took the advice sent to us by the UK H&S manager to not travel unless absolutely needed and worked from home.

Of course my manager lives in an area which was not hit nearly as much, only getting a light dusting to an inch or so. So, naturally he assumes that everywhere was the same and I get to "to be honest through, that's really not that much is it? I made it in..." Woohoo, good for you, have fun. Should be fun when we inevitably have a "catch up" sometime today...

We still had piles of ice and slush last night although a temperature of 9C this morning and a good bit of rain overnight meant that aside from a couple of tiny piles in corners, everything has gone now.

Wasnt able to swing an SSD in my recent upgrade as prices had gone up too much.

My SSD evidently took that personally and decided to die.

PC hung and restarted into UEFI... no SSD to be found...

    ****.

Yeah, was more mega ICY than snow for us down here but still just as bad. Even with decent tyres my cars absolute rubbish in meh weather. Road i go down for work which is a residential area had a 5 car pile up and i thought, ive made the wrong choice saying ill come in. I mean it went fine, drove cautiously, but yeah thinking it wasnt worth it, cause could have been something. Gonna start offering No as a service i think.

Everything keeps breaking. Coffee machine broke on Xmas morning. Replaced it and a week later that one is leaking. Then the throttle on my SIM pedals stopped working. Then the washing machine gave up. And finally the tubo on my car stopped turbo-ing.

I'm putting up with the coffee machine for now
I upgraded my SIM pedals and will sell the previous ones onced fully repaired under warranty
I replaced the carbon brushes on the washing machine and it's ok so far
I've bought a boost pressure control valve for the car as it's the most likely culprit - not yet fitted

Can't wait for the next thing!

Reseating the SSD seems to have fixed it for now.

My short-term memory seems to be getting worse, forgetting so many things recently. It's both frustrating and worrying.

My family history dictates I'll go that way. Makes me paranoid that it's already kicking in.
