Aluminium has little fatigue resistance and fractures readily. You must have been lucky with the particular composition of the alloy.

The issue with that, however, is that a large 4x4/SUV will weigh a hell of a lot more. Meaning your wheels will hit potholes with more force and momentum at the same speeds, increasing your risk of wheel damage.

At this time of the year, with the roads in the state they’re in, I am extremely conscious of the fact that my EX30 weighs 1,980KG.

Yeah, my family car is a 2.1 ton Volvo too, it used to have 22inch rims for 3months till I damaged too many tyres and cut my losses downsized to get chunky tyre wheel ratio much better for the offroading required on the school run.

Hmm. Since I have a couple of weeks, I'll call around. I remember getting an alloy straightened out on my last car, and you could visibly see the dent (on these ones you can't).

Is it time for a ‘What’s Ruining Your Tyres’ thread?

To be fair the rural roads are fine here too, as nothing uses them, it's the high traffic roads that have been subject to numerous rip ups for services etc and not properly repaired that seem to be falling apart at least around here.

The circumference of my Volvo wheels alongside more refined suspension means you don't feel potholes, speed bumps or small children when you fly over them whereas my Up! wheels are like shopping trolly wheels in comparison and I drive around feeling the pain of any undodged imperfection.

The solution is tractor wheels, feel no bumps :D Will the Up have enough power to rotate all that weight :D

Entry and exit might be a bit inconvenient. :D

I have suggested to my wife, that a Unimog with a camper body, might be a good idea for the Winter.

To be fair, not a bad idea for the summer either. Stuck in a caravan traffic jam? Just go off road and avoid the jams altogether :hehe:

Big, soft wheels are great, but I can tell you the stress has to go somewhere. After 7+ years of major construction in the area, I need to replace my steering gearbox. I've snapped a ball joint in the past too.

The pitfalls of buying random hardware from China and having a fault, life would be so much easier if I bought from a UK shop or even amazon that you can deal with.

Short summary of my current cyclical support email hell trimmed to not bore you too much

ME: I have problems with USB disconnections, suspect hardware fault, if I add USB power to ports things work, take power away things disconnect.

Even provided youtube videos of problems under windows and linux to rule out stock response many give on support forums which is oh its windows use linux.

Support response: please list devices you use, ours work fine

ME: yes my devices are working fine in all other machines I have, at least 5 machines of similar spec USB/TB etc and I then list all usb devices that are having a problem which is everything down to a keyboard

Support response: please list devices you use, ours work fine

Note, my response where I had already answered all their question with all the listed hardware etc, is included in their response :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: this is going to be a long drawn out process.

Fortunately, it has many ports and also I discovered the adding usb power trick makes the USB4 ports work and once they are on they are stable but it is less than ideal, needs a proper fix.

Pain. It appears to be a bad pain day today.

Got some severe aching mixed with burning stabs across my lower back that then wraps around my right hip. Burning lines of pain down the front of my leg coming and going, and all this leading to restless leg in my lower right leg.

Had a blister pop up on my calf that is now healing - my lower legs are a mass of weak scar tissue from a couple of bouts of cellulitis and scars from blistered mosquito bites over the year, and every so often one of the scars "lets go" and blisters again, the healing of which alternates between extreme soreness to touch and mad itching. They heal just fine, but I could do without the pain.

Also got the startings of a headache on the way, but at least that hasn't just appeared and I can take something to hopefully knock it back before it really kicks off.

Managed to get about 5 hours of sleep last night which is very unusual for me so i shall have the risk of dropping off during my lunch break again, endless fun.

Oh well, time to pop the pills and get back on sorting things out for everyone again.

My poor dogs prescription has been messed around royally

Got it last Monday posted it tracked 24 Monday. Didn't get delivered till Friday *thanks royal mail* then the company who ship it rang me to say there is an issue what's the name of my vets they need to deal with it. My vets then of Friday emailed it to them. Today they said can't accept email will have to post it my vets have shipped it 2nd class and it takes 3-5 days to process. I've got 7 days left but we both go away Friday for a week.. my vets want £90 for 7 days of tablets I've gotten 90 days for 90 online.... It's a joke

Wondering why Sam Altman is allowed to get away with it, when he's clearly Elizabeth Holmes levels of sociopathy.
