Yeah... there's a lot of Saturday Monument Nutters up here...

Really not sure who to half-heartedly endorse locally... bc they all suck.

I want to do things but an ever-present yet ever-shifting set of hurdles and an ever-preset feeling of 'meh, what's the ****ing point?'

I want to do the things... i want to have the fun... i want to feel the happy feels...

however what i want does not, has not, and likely will not ever actually matter.

Shoulder has been a bit pissed off since Mrs crap used my arm as leverage to get off the sofa last week :)rollingeyes::duh:) further agrevated by having go the docs Tuesday to get the last stitch out. Just the impact of walking too briskly to get there on time enough to cause quite a bit of pain, then all yesterday and parts of today I've had what I can only describe as "needles and needles" down the side of my arm. I am not travelling for ****.

So the physios called and need to come in tomorrow. :sigh: Will probably be good to have someone check it after the last couple of days, plus the very light exercises I'm doing are only to keep the arm from completely ceasing, and it will would be good to get onto strengthening it.

If it's external influences, you have to occasionally just flip everyone and everything off and do what you want to do for your own sanity's sake.

Speed camera caught me doing 35 in a 30, this brings me up to 9 points and my first ones expire in 839 days.

Even if I tried my darn hardest driving 4000+ miles a month I don’t like my chances.

If your car has speed limiter or even cruise control just religiously set it to the posted speed limit at all times.

In this part of Somerset, there are often frequent changes in speed limit, as you pass through the small villages. Better to be concentrating on the driving, than farting about with the cruise control every minute or two.

Is that 839 days until they come off your license? I think the points stay on your license for 4 years but only count for three years towards the 12-point threshold at which you get banned.

Yeah, I agree with this entirely. Cruise control is good for motorways etc but I wouldn't be using it in situations where the speed limit is changing frequently (as it does on the roads around here, too).

For the most part our cars see the limit changes and read the roads signs for its cruise but there are some whacky things when it gets it wrong, my work car park is 70mph, I have to go in sliding sideways everyday :D

I use my cruise control on every road, 20's, 30's, 40's, etc etc, and it an old fashioned one, no sign or GPS integration.
It's a habit I got in to when i was doing 25k miles a year as losing my license meant losing my job, at the end of the day it's down to the driver / rider to pay attention to the road signs.

I use my cruise control to drive my car sometimes like it's a computer game :naughty:, the steering wheel has an up and down control to increase the speed (I still keep feet on the pedals and only do it on the motorway when it’s clear), makes my short journey fun.
I don't have any of these fancy modern GPS and sign recognition features, just a 2008 car getting me to work

Our car puts what it thinks the limit is on the dash, but screws it up spectacularly at times. It uses a combo of GPS/map data and cameras, but our local tip is close to the motorway and only has a single sign as you enter telling you the limit is like 20/30. After you've driven a few minutes (the place is massive), the dash will suddenly tell you the limit is 100!

Can't you just pay a fine and do the course, or have you blown through that option already?

Bad luck dude -been there (9 points) and had the speed awareness course too! Managed to make it, mainly because it was always weighing on my mind. If circumstances allow, it may be worth getting a car with a more modest amount of power.

Tangent - this kind of stuff really irks me. I have friends who've had several points over the years and consider them great drivers, and other friends who are a nightmare (not boy racers, jus crap) but don't get any. I wish we had a system based on how good you actually drive rather than just using speed as a single factor. But hey ho - others will be more militant on speed.

    Moods already in the shitter...

Unreal Engine is ****ed... none of the fixes fixed it so I though i'd reset windows to see if that did it...

It did not... all that ballache for nothing.

...and i'm funtionally locked out of the account managing my ISA [such that it is] on the PC as it's now no longer a 'trusted device' and i can't make it one bc it doesn't have a webcam for the ID verification shite it likely wants me to do again.

This has not done my mood any favours.

Road closure. I live three miles from my work but the closure of the main road resulted in a 90 minute diversion. Un-****ing-believable. Id have walked if I had known

In Finland if you do 20km/h over the limit you get a fine related to your disposable income and the severity of the offence (so that people feel the effects of a fine for the same offence irrespective of financial status).

It's why a multi millionaire got a speeding ticket for over £100,000 for being 30km/h over the limit.

    Lol.

To be fair he took it well and hoped it would be spent on the healthcare system. But then he is loaded.
