Could be the lenses/diffuser that distribute the backlight have shifted or fallen off, had that happen to one of our old TVs!

    Not worth claiming, tbh.

I have a £150 excess, they’ll offer a pittance, and it’ll impact my price at renewal. It’s not worth the hit.

My OH reminded me of a pot of money I’d totally forgotten about, which turns out to be a hair under what we originally paid for this TV. Time to make use of the rtings subscription I bought a few weeks back.

Appreciate the suggestions, but this does look like damage.

Even if I could find the space to try and take it apart, I honestly don’t think this TV is even worth the effort. I’ve been disappointed with its performance ever since I bought it.

You could possibly sell it in the condition it’s in on avforums to get back something. Might be an issue some bright spark in there can fix. Or someone might want it for spares or some job that the imperfections don’t matter.

Good old Hermes/Evri may have lost a significantly sized box containing my new 3D printer...

"We're sorry, your parcel has been delayed. We're working to get it on its way on the next working day and We'll let you know once it's out for delivery"

    No further updates since. FFS.

Just wait until you get a delivery confirmation complete with a picture of it in someone else's doorway.

Additional info from the chat bot said 'Your parcel appears to have missed connection to the courier' which is an interesting way to say the courier didn't put it on their van - or couldn't because it has vanished. Lovely.

Am now 15 months (and change) past my last seizure on 27th May 2025.

Sent in early information to DVLA 8 weeks prior to 27th May 2026 (as is allowed - so was around March 29th 2026)

They sent request for further information early in June (6th June I received it) that was returned promptly via registered post on 8th June - had by that time met and exceeded the 12 month threshold for driving after a seizure.

Got to the 15 month point, getting increasingly frustrated at not hearing anything/receiving new license - so finally make enquiries of neurologist (voicemail and email hoping one of them would be responded to) and DVLA via phone, they told me "its with medical dept and we'll contact you when we have more information"

Last Friday I received a text message from neurology dept - they haven't received any inquiries from DVLA...

Call DVLA on Saturday armed with this fact...

Told that "Medical dept haven't looked at my application yet"

    :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: FFS

I would literally get 7.5 hrs per week back if i could drive to/from work instead of 25min walk to bus + 50 min journey + 10 min walk from stop to school + 10 min walk from school to stop + 50 min journey + 5 min walk to meet wife in nearby supermarket car park (otherwise its a repeat of 25 min walk from stop to home)

Car = 30 mins to school, 30 mins back to home.

We currently have something that's been waiting for pickup at a parcel shop for a week now.

They can change their name but they've only changed the colour they've painted the same lump of dog crap that the company is.

Still no printer. Seel (the company Anycubic used for delivery protection) want a letter or police report before issuing a refund. I can't get this from Evri as I'm not Evri's customer, Anycubic are. Evri have also stopped responding to me since it became clear the package has vanished. Anycubic support isn't the best but I've messaged them to let them know THEY should be sorting this out, not me or Seel or Evri. My contact for the sale of the goods is with Anycubic and no one else.

Will see if I get a response in the next 24 hours otherwise I might have to look into some form of chargeback (I paid with Paypal) although I guess that could take some time.

    Consumer law.

The responsibility is with the seller until it's in your possession.

They cannot not refund you and it's their responsibility to chase Evri.

Solicitors. Unhelpful solicitors. Obstinate unhelpful solicitors.

This house purchase + it'll happen or I'll have an aneurysm, not sure which which will happen first.

Currently having the roof redone, roofers have been a ****ing nightmare. Got delayed over a week, then Friday just gone they finally arrived and got to work ripping the roof off. Were meant to work over the weekend, didn't show Saturday. Then Sunday say it will be finished over Tuesday and Wednesday, they were here till 8 last night, but no show again today.

Also tried screw us out of another £6k saying all the wood needed replacing, definitely does not. Just want it done and them gone. Whoever gave them 5* on checkatrade must be smoking something rather potent.

Trying to get this DIY PC/NAS working…
Just issue after issue after issue.
    No boot with HBA.
    No boot with 10G NIC.
    Then manage boot with HBA.
    Then doesn’t detect on reboot.
Unraid links trial to ssd I put it on. The stops being detected randomly. Try format and reinstall.
No longer have 30 day trial.
CPU FAN error every start, it’s working fine.
All that over and over again. Every reboot. :wallbash::wallbash:
    and worst of all…

The two 16TB Iron Wolf Pros I bought quite a while ago (think 5yrs) and had sitting in their boxes for this use and not used… aren’t spinning up. In the NAS, or on my normal PC. Nothing. :waah::waah::waah:

This just keep getting better and better. And yes, they're still not finished yet. They had put facias up on the main roof, they weren't meant to, that was meant to be the back lower roofs which already had old rotting wooden ones. Mentioned they need to come down a couple of times, and in this afternoon's review of what still needed finishing, he tells me they've cut off the Georgian corbel bricks from the roof like to get the facia on. :wallbash:

It looks ****ing hideous, our road is pretty much all old terraced houses, all with nice decorative brick roof lines, and our sticks out like a sore thumb. I have to tell Mrs crap when she gets back from work, and she is going to be devastated, and go ****ing mental.
