I had a contact in Norway for a while who got me some jobs there :)

As for Digg, I'm not too familiar with that site, though I believe someone else put my first video on there when I put it online. It got about 0 views :(

You should visit the website in Elledan's sig, it explains her story.

Knowing who and what you are is tough enough without the problems she's had!

yeah, i read it when i got home. as i said, the site design was a bit loud for me to get away with reading at work (hooray for bit-tech's subdued themes)

Woman in the cube next to me. She's back today after being down with the flu for the last week. She's still sniffling and sneezing and coughing. I can almost see the germs floating towards me, I can hardly breathe without shuddering. Normally I can forget about it, but now all I can think about is the fact that every little molecule has been in people's bodies, floated around in their lungs, passed through their disgusting bacteria ridden mouths and slowly drifted towards me. Everything here has to be cleaned now, all of the contaminants in the air are going to settle on my mouse, my keyboard, my 30-60 triangle, my tape dispenser, etc... it's maddening. People need to learn: Just. Stay. Home. She also whispers everything she reads. I understand this may be a real problem, perhaps she just has a hard time with written words, but constantly hearing "psst *sniffle* mumble mumble psst ssst *cough cough* pssst mumble" does not help me calm down. And the number one problem which I am confident most of you can relate to: these boxers simply do not have a comfortable level of space. I've tried adjusting and reorganizing but simply cannot get into a comfortable position.

    But, I have milk.

Kind of an obvious one, but get some good friends! Surround yourself with nice people you trust who understand you. That way you can know that no matter what you'll always be one thing: someone's friend. Changing laws and getting recognized is important, but coming to terms with the here and now is equally so. Knowing where you want to go is useless if you don't first know where you are.

If you can dig through all the sap in that you might find some useful advise! :p

    Milk is good.

*hands Sloth a baseball bat to 'deal with' the next cube's occupant*

    ;)

You're right of course, but it's really hard to make friends :( I have got both the medical issue and my curse of being gifted (also a rare type...) which both seem to conspire to make me a hermit or so.

So yeah, I try not to let it ruin my life, but I kind of have the cards stacked against me in this round :)

Meh, if people can't tolerate you being unique then you aren't really missing out by not befriending them. Just takes patience and luck (the latter I have very little of and can understand!) to get things working.

Also, thinking about it, forums like these must be a refreshing change from the real world. Everything being typed instead of spoken and all... and everyone here can relate to being at least a little bit of a hermit! Oh the beauty of the intarwebz! :D

My right foot is daily complaining at having worked on concrete floors for the last 20 years. Walking in pain daily is no fun. This on top of being 41 and having the aches and pains associated with it. My wife and daughter need I don't even know how much money on dental work/braces that I don't have the money for. I want to start a new build and am scraping and scrounging to get started on it.

But I do have milk at home.

On second thought, I better get some on my way home because we probably are actually out.

My weekend is about to be ruined by "overtime" I'm to do in the middle of the night, that I won't even be paid for.

At least I have some milk at home.

Yeah, I like being on the interwebz, it has been a kind of lifeline for me the past 10+ years, and still kind of is.

As for the 'making friends' part, I may get on national TV here this year and have already been in the largest newspaper, so at least I should begin socializing a lot more. Can't make friends if you don't meet new people :)

Oh, and I have milk. That definitely has to count for something :D

I think I'm pretty much failing my MSc and trying to revise for two exams for which I've been about 4 lectures in total...

Although admittedly this is all my own fault...

Getting back into making jewellery and stuff and realising the more addicted I get to making stuff the more it'll end up costing to keep buying the parts. I need to be able to sell some to make money to buy more!

Just a shame it's all been done before so selling it isn't always very easy.

Tack onto this; getting back into making soaps and bath bombs only to find that selling 'cosmetics' is a lot more complicated since the laws changed in 2004 meaning you have to buy loads of certificates and assessments just to be able to legally sell them :sigh:

ranked at the very bottom despite the fact that i put a whole lot of effort trying to keeps things intact in the plant as best i could. the higher rated fellas are the ones parading around in events and initiative programs that does jack shyt to the plant, but glows brightly in front of management.

this could very well lead to my dismissal, or slightly less tragic, resignation...

maybe i'll be singing "So long and thanks for all the fish, so sad that it should come to this." at the end of this year.

I hate being negative, but I'm having a fairly crap weekend so far (sick and too much work on), had a rubbish week (too much work on), having a tough month so far (lost a boatload of money) and can't believe it's the middle of March already because I have seemingly achieved nothing but failure so far in 2010 (mostly financially but also relating to some areas of my studies). I'm not going into details because frankly I CBF and I know none of you actually care anyway, but I'm just venting. Basically I am in an FML mood lately, and I don't know what it's going to take to change that. I used to be so positive

Oh, by the way, are you guys from Montreal (talladega & Ghys) French Canadian?

    [edit]

Forgot to add, I realized that I have somehow misplaced one of my rare and collectible (read: favourite) flashlights, and also one of my rare and collectible Zippos. :sigh:

Some of us old lurkers care. I was unemployed for 16 months. Now I have a dream job. I have WAY too many hours staring all three monitors all day. I have stuff I'm doing that should have been done last Aug and wasn't. I get 36 hours twice a month with my family. I commute 1024 miles one way to work and IT'S OK! Things change and sometimes when things seem bleak they change for the better. Persevere. And remember it's OK to rant to us. Most of us have either been there or have no clue, but we're here.

Dell screwed up an order back in September, never got the product, filled a complaint with bank, they reversed the charge. Two weeks later, they put the charge back on. A month or so after that, the account gets closed, due to it being overdrawn. Now its in collections. Called the bank, they refused to do anything, because they "sent out a letter" requesting more information on the case. I never got the letter, so its "my fault" as the bank puts it. And we all know how collection agencies are. So I've got a nice little mark on my credit report now. What's worse? I'm not even 18 and a half.

    tl;dr?

Dont bank with Wachovia. I'm going back to B.O.A. after this is taken care of.

I think Ghys is French Canadian. I'm not though (and I'm from Manitoba not Quebec :) )

Only bad thing for me right now is I have school tomorrow. :(

And today while shooting my bolt started to open and close very roughly near the end of the match making it hard for me to concentrate. I will have to clean the bolt and find something to use to make it not do that.
