Other What's ruining your life right now?

Just found out I'm getting sacked.... today.... by the same collossal ****tard who's been messing us around with money since christmas. I should have at least a few hundred quid in the bank (realistically over a grand) but because I've been short every single week this year I have £168 to see me through. >:/

Expect to see my rig for sale in the trading section if I don't find something else in the next couple of weeks.

 

the thing about the offering of my services is its usually doing yard work for my grandparents or other relatives, which i dont mind too much(i actually enjoy working outside unless the conditions are piss poor.), the main part is that she doesnt even consult me first, and that she insists that i not be compensated for my time and energy.

i just remembered some more instances of unfair treatment/favoritism. a large tree fell over in our front yard during a wind storm a couple years back and i had to help cut it up and move it over to an empty space, in 70 mph winds. my sister took a nap during this time. one of my christmas presents later that year was an axe to cut the wood for the fireplace.

not only that, but in my room is a desktop computer. this computer is my parents computer. this means that they can now come and go as they please in my room, regardless of what i am doing, whether i am trying to watch a movie, using the computer myself, etc. they also refrained from using my sisters desktop computer that was in her room while she was away at college, instead using mine(this was before i graduated high school, so i still lived at home, while my sister was away at college. they even still used the comp in my room while my sister was in argentina for 6 months... oh yea, she has gotten the opportunity to study abroad as well. she has also been able to travel to, hawaii, peru or chile(cant remember), italy, london, france, germany, she will also be going to spain this summer.(all of these trips were partially financed by my mother)

last one for now... she broke her phone, she received a new one almost immediately. my phone has had issues for over a year(randomly shuts off, buttons wont work, buttons press themselves, for a week the phone made several calls to louisiana without me dialing a single number, and the battery dies after about an hour(cumulative) of conversation.

now, about the arguing...i am generally a pretty passive person(unless i am super pissed), especially with my parents. i do not talk to them much, so they dont really know me very well. they think they do, but they dont know the real me. anyways, i dont see the point in arguing with my mom because she is catholic, therefore will reject all logic and reason i present to her. it is literally impossible to win an argument with her, because she will never stop, and simply will not acknowledge another person's victory in the argument. basically, she wont stop bitching at me until i just get sick of it and give in, just so that the conversation will stop.

and people wonder why i listen to such angry music.(i suppose most of them dont know all this though...)

 

Stop being such a push over chimmy. Move that computer out of your room or just buy a used pentium 3 or something crappy and shove that somewhere that isn't in your room. Put a lock on your door.

I allow my family to use my computer because we've got a mobile broadband connection. When I want to use it though, they better finish chop chop, otherwise I get super ratty.

 

She's a girl. You gotta man up on this point. (Only point of unfair treatment that I disagree with though, your life sucks atm. Tried fmylife.com?)

That does suck big time though.

 

if you would have looked back at earlier posts you would have seen i am just going to move out. and there is a lock on my door, but if i use it they will probably think i am doing drugs...one time one of my friends accidentally forgot his can of spray deodorant in the car i drive, and they thought i had it to hide the smell of drugs...yea my parents are stupid

im not as mad at the fact that she didnt help, but more at the fact that i got about 4 hours of sleep the night before and wanted to go back to sleep, but i had to help, while she was able to sleep. had she been inside doing something useful(starting a fire in the fireplace, checking to see if the phones still worked, etc.) i wouldnt see any issue.

 

I'm sorry, but I had a laugh at that. Got to be one of the worst gifts I've ever heard!

As for the computer... 'magically' have the power button disconnect from the motherboard one day. Maybe they'll think it's dead and replace it, elsewise use it for extortion. Show that it's in your room and will therefore be under your control.

And of course, consider getting your own PC. You can get a decent one specced up here pretty quick.

 

Well in his case it the money would be better spent moving out!

Btw have you tried presenting your viewpoints arguments to your parents in a calm easy manner?
I just think it is best for you to do it this way first, be stern and firm, but dont let it get out of control, because they will most likely not listen to you if both parties end up losing their temper!

 

...its a mac...we use macs... and i do have a macbook now. the computer use isnt what bothers me, its the fact that they can just go into my room whenever they want, regardless of what i am doing.

I got laid off, 3 months after getting a mortgage, I managed to get a crappy job to cover the payments. It all worked out in the end.

Sorry! You can make jokes about me when I'm sick over the weekend after working in a 12"x48" office with six sick coworkers all week.

 

Trying to install Windows Server 2003 and have my floppy say it cant find the driver. So I had to install in standard ide mode, and now I cant access my external drive with all my drivers on it, so I am coping it to the internal hard drive, and then hopefully I can install the raid driver and then get my raid stuff working again. If not, then my new computer just became my server.

 

Not to worry! The best medicine for the anxiety is being proven innocent! especially if you are innocent.

Struck out again. Seriously, women. NO NO NO. I do not enjoy being messed about with.

 

There is a girl from my class who likes me a lot. The drunk me likes her too. The sober me, not so much.

And I keep hitting on her when I'm drunk it's freaking terrible. I mean, she's nice but

1. She's not my type
2. She would be a downgrade looks-wise from my current GF
3. Problems with my current GF makes me say "Oh sure, why not hit on her" .. -.-'

 

Three times in 3 days I've been literally millimeters from kissing this girl that I really like. I felt the moment, but something just held me back. EVERY TIME.

My coach being a colossal douche. All this ****er does is get pissed at every small thing, then when we won second place in a race this was his comment "Everyone knows you got second, put the medal in your bag because no one wants to see it." We are the second fastest crew in the state, and after this year possibly nationally ranked (mid 20's ranked but better than we have ever been) and this is how he reacts. Not to mention doing what I am told and being yelled at for it and when I try to explain that I am doing what he said I just get yelled at again for talking back by both him and the head coach. Kind of wished I wasn't stupid when I was younger and took that coxing position I was offered at a different Uni.

 

i see a socially awkward penguin thread on 4chan. i read it and laugh at it. then i realize 80% of them describe me perfectly.

how do i stop myself from being like this?
