If it does what you want it to do, why replace it? Because others think you should? If it had a stability problem, or it wouldn't do what you want I could see it, but over people's opinions? Nah.

Because it only does about half what I want it to. Suddenly this motherboard (I think) has decided to wants to screw with whatever GPU is placed in PCI-E 16x 2, so I can't run SLI anymore.

Winamp is being stupid. It'll let me send music to my phone over WiFi, but it won't bother to refresh the storage information, so after a certain time, even if you've just cleared another 10GB of space on the phone; it'll refuse to enque more tracks for transcoding and transfer.

I know it'll update once it's finished the current crop of uploads, but that's going to be at least an hour off.

Also the Winamp transcode is barely using half a single core. This takes the mickey. I've got all this power, and it's not even using a full sixteenth of it.

Edit; And then Winamp Crashes anyway. Wonderful. Now to try and find where it failed and then resume from there.

And some of us have no card at all.

Nortriptyline has left me with a sunburn that blistered today. With my seriously diminished skin sensation, I never knew till trying to scrub off red oxide primer dust after calling it a day. I know it now.

Have an employer that is "Very interested" in me for web development.

Thing is, it doubles my wages overnight. Which would be really handy right now.

Only thing is, I'd have to drive further, and the guys here are a great bunch.

    Not sure what to do.

Realizing that things are steadily becoming more and more one sided with one of my (former?) good friends. Feels like I'm pulling teeth just to keep in touch, let alone make plans. Can't help but feel I've been replaced by a new circle of people.

Sloth, i've had the same problems mate.

I have no friends outside of work. My gf is the only person I talk to out of hours. I got fed up years ago with planning everything and organizing meets.

I do what the hell I want to, whenever I want to and if someone wants to tag along, then they're welcome.

    - Phone hasn't stopped ringing all day. Not usually a bad thing, but today it was just one large hassle after another.
    - Been trying to do some paperwork, repairs and some testing since 7PM. It's now midnight and I've hardly made a dent in it due to several interruptions and the phone still ringing every 15 minutes.
    - I have to be on site at 8 in the morning, which means that my original plan of going to bed and getting up early to finish this stuff off and have it ready by close of business tomorrow is shattered.
    - I'm now looking at a good 6 hours work, overnight, just to keep one client happy and keep my books up to date.

If it wasn't worth doing, I wouldn't do it... but that still doesn't make pulling an all nighter any easier :/

my initial reaction would be stop procrastinating on here and get on with it but i've been in that position myself [with uni work].

So instead, don't stress out over it, when you're stressed you make mistakes and stuff goes wrong... Relax, it'll all be ok...

College is out for the summer and I extended my lease to stay close to my girl friend (as she strongly requested). She has decided that we weren't a match anymore so I am "trapped" for at least 2 months. No one else is here as it is strictly a college town so when college is out, empty... ughhh GIRLSSS!!!!

Yeah, I know  I just came on here to catch up on a couple of threads and "vent" a little. I'm going to put on a pot of coffee in a minute and get stuck into it. I have what seems like a mountain of work to do before morning, but realistically I have plenty of time to do it. It's just irritating because I was sort of looking forward to getting some sleep tonight

    [edit]

Also, my DVD duplicator broke down earlier whilst burning disc #54/100 for a customer :grr: So inconvenient :waah:

This damn machine! I've been working on it for days now. It'll boot up outside of SLI, let me enable it, then blow the doors off a 570, but should I try and boot in SLI; it all goes to crap. Random freezing on the desktop, complete failure to even launch anything using OpenGL or DirectX, Inability to disable SLI without the entire system throwing a hissy fit, cranking the GPU fans to 100% and then sitting there with a black screen for eternity.

Literally the only way I can get SLI to work is if I pull the SLI bridge, restart into windows, shut down, whack the SLI bridge back in, then start it up again. I have to do that EVERY SINGLE BOOT if I don't want things to go to heck.

What the balls? This machine, in this exact configuration used to just work, then, magically, after it has been back to scan for testing it stops friggin' working.
