A good friend's significant other posting a picture with one of my exact deformities and then laughing at it and calling the person retarded. It happens to be one of the singularly most painful things I experience, and it's 100% irreparable. I tried to gently set the record straight, but who knows. People say the nastiest things.

I shouldn't complain about my job but I do dislike it somewhat. But needs must I guess.

Kayin if that person is a true friend then things will be cool. If not you lost someone who isnt worth your time.

You might just have to tell her that it is too old to work now so she has to upgrade.

    ^this. On so many levels. ^this ^

Just tell her that she may as well upgrade as there's little to no support for it any more. Less hair-pulling out and pooters-flying-though-windows that way.

Thing is XP isn't broke, so for the most part why change it, if that's what they wish to use so be it.

The headaches I've faced trying to drag XP era hardware across to Win7 is just too painful to describe, due to 3rd party drivers. I've had to sh*t can an nforce 3 motherboard and an X800 graphics card for this very reason, both of which work fine under XP.

Just because it's easier for the repairer, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. My father hated XP, until I showed him how to configure the classic appearance mode, he was very use to using WinNT and only due to new hardware not supporting a faster processor did I manage to get him on to XP. I respect that's what he prefers, as the OS suits his software (All from the similar era).

I personally prefer a linux operating system, but I still require Win7 for other tasks that linux just can't do right now.

lol, I expect to get hurt by forum hate by this, but I'm not a steam gamer, actually the only game I play is WoT. Solidworks is the only app that keeps me using Windows, and WINE is not an option.

its more a case that she doesn't want to spend any money on her pc...as she doesn't have a lot to spend...and the price of new windows is very high...
in the end I found a vista ultimate licence from my old laptop ( that I put Linux. then XP on ) that was unused and so she now runs vista
whats ruining my life right now ?? UPDATES....THOUSANDS OF UPDATES!!!!
meaning her pc is still sitting on my desk...next to my rig...
I have 2 full computers...and 2 laptops in a 8 foot square bedroom...that also have to sleep in... current room temperature 32.5 degrees....

Same in my office. Humidity at 38% though, so I'm not a sweaty wreck. Productivity is down though.

Garage have just called to say that our car has apparantly been damaged by some sort of acid. On my way to have a look at it now, but I foresee a large bill ahead :(

Is it not their fault if it was done while your car was under the garages care?

Biggest coding project I have built is about to go live at my bosses request. It's ready, but im not 100% and could do with another 2 weeks on it.

I'll be working on a version 2 straight afterwards however. One more comprehensive and with a better control panel. During the build process i've noted down a lot of different changes i'd like to make. Project Mk2 will be epic, but a lot of work.

Sat in a training session opposite an impossibly fit colleague. It's hot and sweaty. So's the climate.

I have not had the time to see my girlfriend. Too busy. And family is asking more and more of my time lately.

The worst problem I'm facing at the moment is the sheer number of defects I've found in my car's paintwork over the past few days. Getting it under 1000W of light, using defect spotting lamps and being up close and personal with it has really revealed a multitude of horrors which I never knew existed. A lot of it is quite recent, certainly since the beginning of last winter which was the last time it was under this sort of scrutiny. I still have a few days left to sort it before I go back to work but there's so much still to do that it'll take every hour I've got.

I also have a TON of work to do when I go back. Just an insane amount of work to do in August  I'll probably have 6 full weeks of 16/6 until halfway through September. *Yay* >.<

My leg is 90% back to normal but I really want to get back to working out etc. Too much weight has been gained.

Dad put the wrong coolant in the car and now it's turned to a brown/orange sludge. VW will take a day to drain, clean and re-fill, which means I need to cab it around town today.

    Bleh.
