Other What's ruining your life right now?

Gelid.

So my cable extensions arrive and I fit them. All excited, really started to look nice.

PC won't start. Just clicks and goes straight off. I remove ALL of my hardware down to a bare motherboard, still won't start. After an hour of sweating and cursing I finally realise the 24 pin ATX extension is wired up wrong.

No seriously, I **** you not, it's actually wired up wrong.

I just hope it hasn't done any damage.

 

Woah, that's a rather large mistake by Gelid there...

 

It seems that my son is running my life now. We have changed our lifestyle after his birth. It became hard to wake up early in the morning and do not sleep at night. That's certainly some kind of joke, but I often say that he is running my life now.

 

I doubt it was Gelid. More like some poor over worked woman with her teets hanging down to her knees in a sweat box somewhere

I managed to get the PC to start but now all of the hardware is sitting in a big pile, all removed..

I also managed to get the two wires out with the aid of a tiny jewellers screwdriver so I have them in the correct places now and have the PC starting using the extension..

Whether or not it's done any damage to the components I won't know until I put all the hardware back in there.

 

On an extension. It's been six days since I sent back the graphics card.

No reply, no tracking, nothing. I just want my motherboard back.

 

Young child? I've got three and they certainly do run your life. It's just something you have to get used to, make compromises etc.

 

What are these blue cameras on blue poles? Any ideas

Managed to move the pins into their correct places with a jeweller's screwdriver. Got the PC booting, but sadly alas, it seems my OCZ Revodrive is dead

It's showing in bios and I can get into the card itself (the RAID bios) but after three Acronis restorations it just sits at a blinking cursor. I'm trying the card's inbuilt secure erase now to see i that helps.

Not looking good though

Well it seems there is something badly wrong.

I just secure erased the drive and that went OK but now if I try and boot Windows 8 from DVD it just hangs at the Windows logo

 

Off to work I go on less sleep than I should have had. But thats my own fault. Plus stomach ache and feeling sick. But needs must I guess.

Wasted the whole evening after the missus promised we'd spend the evening together and never delivered. It happens every evening. Don't really know why I expected less. I could've done some decent gaming or sketching if I wasn't expecting anything.

 

What did she do instead?

 

Hell it's the opposite for me and my partner she wants to sit down watching crap tv all evening cuddling and i just serve her off and use my computer (daily) these days i can't even sit down and watch a decent movie with her because i believe my time could be better spent doing crap on the pc

 

**** GELID.

After hours of trouble shooting I have managed to get the PC to boot. Sadly it's not all good. The PC will only boot bone stock. Apply any sort of overclock and it corrupts the Revodrive and refuses to boot.

So I've either got a screwed board, screwed CPU or screwed ram.

Lovely.

 

Oh my lord, Asus, still hasn't replied..

 

Hardware, Domain, Server and Email migration. It's a neverending ****ing nightmare.
