Not life-ruining, but everyone at work was weirded-out today:

The police came around this morning ( I started at 5pm, so missed the fun ), talked to one of the ( pastry ) chefs, then arrested him. Turns out, he has been hiding spy cameras in the ladies washrooms in the staff housing....

Given the majority of the waiting staff and some of the chefs live in staff housing, and most of the waiting staff are female, you can understand how everyone felt after finding out/ catching him in the act ( exact details of how he was caught are unknown, local paper might have some info fairly soon.. ). This is the kinda thing you hear about in other countries, or happens up-country once in a blue moon, but to happen on our own doorstep; he has been sacked, police are questioning him, and he has been told not to come back to Dartmouth....

 

It worked last night but now my email client is bouncing out sending an important reply. Fudge, using web interface as it won't configure with Thunderbird.

End of semester exams are starting Monday.....
I'm actually looking forward to one of the exams (digital systems, it's more or less all verilog code), but the study for rest is not going too well, particularly in the case of C. Programming just isn't my thing

i got a placeholder telling me mrdomrocks.com is for sale, but it looks like a placeholder from the mid 90s so i'm assuming that's not it.

SuicideNeil: that's pretty creepy, i've always assumed only morons would try something like that, though that's on the assumption that anyone who did would get caught.

The novelty of having a job has worn off, so now the complete boredom is sinking in. My job is literally just the following series of events; Pick up box. Read Postcode. Place Box into matching container for Postcode. Grab next box. Repeat.

On a side note; you will never know just how bashed Amazon parcels get when there's too many people handling them. Placing them gently goes out of the window and they just get Thrown into the cages.

In addition; the way the packages are delivered to us makes it impossible to observe Manual Handling Regulations, so I'm coming home with some wonderful back pains at the end of every day.

 

Picked the worse day to go out shopping. Flowing against foot traffic and generally being uncomfortable.

I dnot get out much so finding today particularly hard.

I just left my job last week, where I had been comfortable, earning more than I needed where I had relationships and friendships, was recognized for my work. I left due to relationships going sour....very sour and the failure of management to deal with obvious issues and the underhand nature of the company.

I'm owed holiday pay and 'uniform' refunds, they havn't been recieved despite multiple requests and I'm falling behind on rent and now have to pay for public transport to my new job, which is becoming difficult.

Although it's nice to be back on BT after such a long break

Curious about learning how to sing, recorded myself, and historically I've not been able to sing in tune, but I'd no idea I was that bad. Won't be continuing looking into that! Not life ruining, I couldn't sing before and I can't now, but disappointing...

 

Gastroenteritis.

 

So today i acted rather stupidly.

I normally collect the paper early in the morning when I'm opening the bookies i work at from a regular shop so if needs be i generally grab cigs or smoking stuff i require.

This guy has served me about 30 times before he's a odd character, seems to have something about him like he's new to the outside world (sorta like a criminal trying to recoup on the outside i guess with his first job?) weird to explain that's just the vibe i get anyway

So anyway i thought I'd walk down and grab some cigs, massive queue of guys there, i get up front and he says "I ain't serving you, you look under 25" I said you serve me all the freaking time when i pick up the papers for the bookies in the morning, plus I had all my work uniform on so i got a bit mad and said "How the hell am i under 25? I'm basically advertising I'm over the [Swearword] age requirement by the damn uniform i have on.

He replied "well if you showed me your ID just once, maybe i'd remember you" I replied How the heck are you going to remember me if you've already forgotten me from the previous [Swearword] times and walked out.

Now if they don't serve us papers any-more I'm going to get sacked for that 5 mad minutes.
