Seriously? If she was just interacting with him like normal, not showing any sort of emotion over the upcoming separation, wouldn't that just show that she couldn't care less about breaking up with him?
The girl is obviously hurting, and is trying to deal with it. Who knows what thoughts she is having about it all, but I think talking to her about it, having some fun, and probably leaving things on good terms would be a much better option that just treating her like an enemy.

I wouldn't be surprised if both of you can't just be friends, at least not until you've both gotten over it and maybe not even until you've both got new partners that you're happy with.

There's a theory (widely publicised by some silly American soap) about there only being so many boob impressions a man can store. I think that's probably true... Best way to handle breakups? Get into more random chicks' pants.
Best part about that being that you tend to ahve NO feelings for that chick except for "she's hot/cute/worth a stroke or two", and her neither.
That means you (and her) have more courage to do all the freaky stuff that you didn't tell your ex about because you were afraid she'd freak out if you did...

well i sort of made the first move. I sent her a msg saying hi and introduced myself. And weve sent a few emails back and forth, but her last email was somewhat surprising....

Okay. Thanks a bunch for the advice guys. I talked to her over IM last night for an hour at 3AM, and I laid everything out logically and reasonably. She admitted that she's cut down on communication, but she says it's because "it would be more detrimental to be required to talk about nothingness or to IM or to call just for the sake of communication. It's my opinion that we don't need to talk every single day, and you may legitimately hold a different opinion, and I think the difference of opinion is the problem rather than the amount or rate or ratio of communication."

Fair enough, but why the sudden change? Also, we've had conversations like this before, and we worked it out because we understood what each other wanted. My emotional distress over the last few days is because I haven't consciously perceived that she stopped communicating and as such, I felt like she didn't care any more. And a lot of it was me mis-perceiving. I made calls to her and we talked in the last couple days, and I thought that if I hadn't, then we wouldn'tve at all; the truth is, for example, yesterday, she wasn't home until midnight anyway, and when I called her, she wasn't even out of the car yet. So she didn't have a chance to call me in the first place. So you see, my mis-perceptions are the reason for a lot of this.

As such, she was quite angry that we were having this conversation, but she stuck through it and understood that it had to be done. She concluded "I want to talk when I want to talk. I don't know. I would assume either a phone call or visit IRL or IM chat per day would be enough." So i'm gonna observe over the next couple of days if she really initiates any of that and how she deals with it. So that I can better understand what she wants and if it's enough for me. Because if it's not, then I will end it. That's that.

My word of advice for you guys: Don't date a bipolar girl, or one that has some severe emotional problems/commitment issues. She is all of those things, and you can see an example of the torture that I've been experiencing. Sure, I misperceived some things and I've been a little ignorant, but it's because she's so windy, and it's because she changes so much so randomly.

After seeing that quoted a lot I was gonna call BS as I'm friends with all of my ex's, but then I saw the rest of your post and see you mean not straight away, but later you can be friends, so I guess that's about right.

Ruining my life right now, right now this minute? Weather migraines I love thunderstorms I really do, but I get migraines before them and as we've got storms skirting about the area at the moment I'm getting almost to a migraine every day and then waking up fine aaaand heading to another migraine by the evening. I just wish we'd have a storm and my head would stop hurting and I'd stop feeling sick and wanting to gauge my eye out.

 

Went and did some testing for a job, got an interview, and went to it today. Was a few minutes late, so i bumped from the higher position and interviewed for the lower one, and still didnt get hired. They start hiring tomorrow, and i apparently dont meet their qualifications, which is a total load of ******** because its an entry level job, and I've managed to beat like 5 people in testing results.

Just my opinion, I don't know what the full story is either, but if you think that you guys aren't going to have some fun or make any good memories in this last week and a half, well then maybe better to just end it now, or just start ignoring her, denying requests to meet up, etc.
Who knows, maybe by the end of the week, she comes around a little, so you guys can end things on better terms? Or at least you don't spend the next 1.5 weeks putting up with crap, but maybe you'll get over her instead.
