Tbh I'd arrange for it to have an 'accident' and claim on the insurance...

... or take it to a different garage, because I'm not sure that one knows what they're doing...

    My modding days are over.

Past couple of months I was getting sicker & sicker, spotted a lump with some growth between my neck & shoulder, got referred for an endoscopy & blood tests, they noted how yellow my eyes & skin were & got me a bed fixed up to have more tests, couldn't stand the noisy ward so discharged myself, I grew iller & iller over 2 weeks & was told by my doc I might have lymphoma & told if I don't go hospital for tests & treatment I'll die, they tried draining the jaundice but I couldn't lie on my back for more than 30 seconds without falling into agony, there was a blockage caused by more lymphoma, they did biopsy on the lump & were still unsure what's going on & then found it's a rare aggressive cancer I can't think the name of & it wasn't worth bothering treating, instead I'm on strong pain management.

Lost a good 85% strength in my left arm also so is barely functional, been scraping by on really minimal sleep too, hoping the recliner chair I ordered helps me get a full nights sleep, even my super comfy bed doesn't cut it with not being able to lye down without pain.

So yeah, super shite news for me this year being terminal but once I start getting more sleep it'll help along with the pain management, didn't want to die in hospital or a hospice & chose to stay home, try going out in some comfort, got family that really care for me & extra support from NHS & MacMillan.

I have no idea how long I might have but my spirit is strong still at least so will try to continue posting as a fan.

I was going to say, I hope you're not paying for any of this now. If so, you're pretty obviously being taken for a ride.

Life does not get any crappier than this mate. Very sorry to read this having had throat cancer myself in the past which I was almost diagnosed to late to treat I can vaguely sympathise. Let's hope that at least you can get decent pain management and I know that McMillian are bloody great with support.

Take a rainproof tomorrow unless your aquaman.

Mine, our 17 year old apprentice (I thought he was like 12) seems to have gotten a girl pregnant who has thus produced a sprog. Hes 17 doesnt appear to know what a razor is for the total lack of any stubble and randomly gets a squeaky voice, but can maintain a relationship and seemingly is happy to have a child.
Where as muggings here is very familiar with a razor but the last time I pulled it was a door, which incidentally said push.

    Fantasy Football

Oh to have Saturday mornings and friday evenings back.

And why the hell did I get Baines in, just because he might have a double game week, when my preferred choice Firmino would have one too.

If you play, you know what I'm on about, and if you don't, don't.
    Seriously, don't.

One of those times where as a massive nerd, I can't find a single good reason to convince my wife to let me drop 40 quid on a dreamcast game. Damn it, I really want Pier Solar for the dreamcast.

Easily the most upsetting thing i've read in a long time, Although i don't know you personally nor socially within this forum i certainly remember being inspired by your projects to go out and try something myself. The fact i came here to write something that in comparison now seems utterly stupid.

    Your strength is absolutely astounding

Not quite to Waynio's level - and commiserations for that, I hope you're able to get a handle on pain management quickly - but my roof is leaking. Again. Master bedroom this time. So , for the regular dance of finding a roofer who isn't a cowboy and also isn't booked up clear through to the middle of the year...

    Join the club!
Though my insurance accepted liability after a year of legal mumbojumbo because the assessor they sent out wasn't a chartered surveyor, and my independent guy was :D

Will be good to finally get the problems fixed as we were starting to get serious fungal ingress which means the house is going to have to be fumigated and timbers treated. Great when you have a 1.5 year old breathing it all in.

Just an FYI, avoid eSure like the plague in future!

I can beat that: last time the roof leaked, I rang my insurance's household emergencies line. "No problem, we'll get someone out to you." Few days passed, and the contractors got in touch: "We've been to have a look, but we don't have any ladders long enough to reach your roof. Sorry."

    Seriously? YOU'RE ROOFERS!

The real kicker in all this is that about seven or eight years ago we had the entire thing reroofed at great expense: shiny new tiles on the sloped roof and a fibreglass flat roof on the dormer. Turns out the company - Roofing Group UK, which then became Roofing UK, and now appears to no longer exist - was a bunch of cowboys, hence the problems I've had since. Which means, at some point, I'm going to have to pay to have everything redone *again*.

    :sigh:
