The second flatpack unit arrived today and as luck would have it I was on the pavement when the courier van pulled up. He took it out of his van and two pieces of the unit fell out of the crap packaging and were chipped.

I can probably get one good unit out of the two but another complaint email is off to the German company. This sort of thing I would expect from a UK firm but not the usually super efficient Germans.

Ever get home to find your pc has decided it doesn't want to work today?

Everything was hunky-dory when I shut down, last night. Today though? not a frikkin thing.

Cue hours of fugging around diagnosing **** instead of doing what I wanted to do.

    :grr:

Mine refused to start this morning too. It took five power off/on before it booted.

May have been a bum update

Dead mobo - dropped my CPU in my son's rig and it's fine.

Tried my board with a different CPU, RAM, GPU and PSU - no dice.

This is the third 1155 board to die on me - my old X58 rig was bomb-proof, and SB/IB seems awfully fragile in comparison.

Oh well, the hunt begins for a replacement, although I am considering Haswell and toying with the idea of flogging my 3770k.

That's good - is it your ITX board that's died though? Or mATX?

My ITX - the Gigabyte mATX died last year. Although, it is still in the man cave somewhere... I might dig it out and bake it - got nothing to lose.

The sickening thing is I have a grand coming my way on friday - awesome, I'll just buy a new Skylake setup... no, because the car needs taxing along with four new tyres and I've already shelled out £200+ on a Steelcase Leap. Cheapish mid range tyres are £70 a corner and the tax is £180.

    ITX Z77?

Sell up or face a eBay dry bumming.

Yeah, I seriously doubt I'll be coughing up ebay prices for a Z77 ITX, it'll be cheaper going Haswell. I may have to make do with a H61 mATX in the short-term.

Last nights dream was strange cutting the story short…

I wrapped my car around a post, took some photos because somehow i was fine, when i eventually woke up or so i thought i grabbed my phone which happened to have photos of the crash and as i slowly raised my head that horrible woman was standing over me and screamed in my face causing me to wake up for real. (I don’t know why the heck this woman keeps appearing)

    Other then that nothing.

I hope it wasn't the Z77 board I sold you a while back?

I could accept it if I was pushing them hard, but they were both running at stock when they died.

Considering the amount of abuse X58 boards could soak up, I think SB/IB are a bunch of lily-livered, shandy-drinking nancy boys.

Being locked out of the systems I am supposed to be in charge of.
ESPECIALLY when the guys that are managing those are lying to me and have no idea what they're talking about.

5year old servers performing better than brand new ones... I think not.
I think there's a config issue, but alas, I can't prove the sys admins saying "no"

Wow. I've been taking Montelukast for at least 10 years now for my asthma and it just works. Never knew it could have this grave side effects to some people.

Can't you stop taking it until you've visited a doctor? This clearly isn't normal, and I'm 100% certain any doctor will be able to recommend some alternative that doesn't have these scary side effects.

Id agree with that I was on some meds the other year which were meant to help but just made things worse, I stopped rang the GP by the time I got to see them the old stuff was out of my system so I could start the new stuff right away.

I've come to the conclusion my job is ruining my life of late, the company have been dangling the pay rise for everyone carrot for about two years. Apparently now our companies contracts been extended its going to happen but seeing as its been this long already im not holding out any hopes on that.
I cold write an essay on how bad this place is but youd stop reading after a few lines, suffice to say my motivation has been totally sapped and I am constantly bored in what I do here.
