On our way here I just had a pocket full of 40k yen and a few quid so I paid with a fiver thinking that the change won't be much until I looked at the receipt and it showed the amount in sterling...

Needless to say I have enough for one or two more on our way back through...

Hope you had a nice time out there fella !

We found out last week that my eldest step daughter wants to get married in Hawaii. This is awesome but it rules me out (I don't fly ever) but my wife is going to go. 17 hour flight stop over in the USA...

    Screw them potaters.

Pay rise, should be happy but change means I no longer get a discounted council tax so I'm actually worse off than before

I find it weird that people would drink fizzy drinks to stay hydrated. They don't cure thirst for very long and they don't do much for your overall level of hydration as you end up peeing most of it back out again soon after.

I remember doing some work with a Yank who was thirsty and so he went looking for a soda. I was left going wtf dude, drink water. That's what your body is signalling for. I thought it was just an American thing but I guess not.

It wasn't my main source of hydration, and you could pick up a litre of mineral water in a shop for the same price. Given the choice of pop or water, tho', pop is always going to be tastier.

As far as I know without actually looking it up, too, coconut water is at least as if not more hydrating than water, with the added bonus of ALL THE POTASSIUM. (I think it's potassium, anyway. S'full of *something* good for you, I know that much.)

Yup, definitely more hydrating than water, and I LOVE coconut water. Plus as a bonus it is pretty much the best hangover cure. You can get it fresh from the fruit or packaged here in India, with either option being pretty cheap. It's a fantastic way to wake up the morning after a night of excess.

We usually keep a few dozen around the house at all times during the summer, and I actually prefer them to mangoes (the more typical summer staple), which often confuses the hell out of people.

Plus coconut oil is great for the skin and beard.

And the meat is tasty as hell - you can have it fresh as a snack by itself, or dried and salted/spiced, or an ingredient in cooked food.

Basically, coconut is a fantastic fruit/nut/thingy.

Not being able to find things.

I know I have a chunky copper-based Swiftech northbridge heatsink somewhere - I used it about 12 years ago - but can I find it?

And the remainder of some thermal tape that I put on one side about 7 years ago would come in handy now for some RAM mosfets but that's vanished too.

What's the odds they turn up once I order replacements?

Replaced the front brakepads and brake fluid (no help from the 'one man' bleeder that claimed to have a check valve and LIED), but now the brakes are sticking. Hopefully it's just that the floating pins need some extra lube, and not that the bushes have perished or the seals on the piston have gone. It wasn't sticking before, so hopefully the piston should be fine.
