    Dr. Who all the way.
It was only the longest running Sci-Fi show ever.

And while I'm at it what about sci-fi anime? evangelion? So many though.
Would have to say that SG-1 tops my list of newer shows.

Did u see the Doctor Who cartoon that the bbc ran recently to tie in with the 40th anniversary? Pretty good imo, and a good indication of what were gonna get when the new series finally starts filming....

Woke up late today and missed the last ever episode of Farscape - as a late convert, needless to say, im pissed off. Especially as theyve started showing it from season 1 again :waah:
Oh well, only 80-odd episodes to go....

if i were you i wouldnt "download it off the internet", because its naughty.

And im not going to put all of that sci-fi up there, a few classics, the big classics is alright, but thats basically a menagerie of crap (i.e. anything the UK sci-fi channel shows it crap, bar farscape/andromeda (which actually seem ok!)) :)

Bullcrap statement of the year, buddy ;)
They show - Twilight Zone (slate that, and your soul is mine, pal), The Outer Limits, some cracking Anime, and occasionally some rather good films. Progs like The Sentinel, Earth: Final Conflict and The Ray Bradbury Theatre are also worthy of note in my opinion. The new Tremors series is also rather entertaining. A long way off from 'crap'. In fact, I rarely have to change the channel these days, such is the quality of their programming.

Look.... just stick Farscape on your poll and ill be happy :)

Watching 'The Brood' right now on FilmFour: Ewww look, she just exposed her weird outside womb-thingy. And Oliver Reed just got battered to death.
    Lovely Stuff.

    *AND Roswell....*

Go on, stick Beverly Hills 90210 in there while you're at it....

    :naughty:

Smallville and Roswell are teen angst popcorn shows masquerading as science fiction.
Now why the hell would I imply that Superman is real :D

Except, of course, we all know that he is ;)

What was that conspiracy/alien one set in the sixties with the ganglion things, with tentacles that jumped between people's mouths? Involved a couple, who I think lost their baby. Like the X-files only weirder.

that's the one. I'm also a big farscape fan - there's something about semi-humanoid aliens with australian accents that do it for me :D

As, for my all time favourite Sci-Fi shows listed in this poll, I went for the dear old "DOCTOR" (WHO else??? :thumb: ) and, although, I'm a fan of other shows this was the first that I got addicted too having watched since the very first episode on 23rd November, 1963 - I, still am.

Other, long-time permanent addictions are, "BLAKE'S 7" and, "UFO" (although, am also a "ST" fan too).

    Wow, you're old :naughty:
Gotta agree with u tho, Doctor Who is king.
My dad got me hooked just as Peter Davison was starting his run (hey, im only 26) and I stayed watching till the end. Nice to hear that it's gonna be back at some point. Did you see the DW cartoon that BBCi ran recently, with Richard E Grant doing the voice of the Doctor? It was pretty good IMO.
And Blake's 7 too - hell, i watch that and i still wonder how they managed to make such a cool show on a budget that amounted to sod all. U gotta admit tho, some of its plotlines were utterly confusing at times :)
Welcome to the boards - enjoy your stay here.

Thanks for the Welcome "El_JimBob" nice to have teleported here.

I maybe old as you politely put it but, I'm not quite as old as the dear old, "DOCTOR"!!! :hehe:

YES - the "DOCTOR" is returning next year and, the BeeB have just opened a new "Dr Who Exhibition" in, Blackpool (that opened last weekend) because, of the renewed interest in the show. The original Exhibition also opened Easter weekend in, 1973!!! History rather repeating itself. :D

Ironically, they closed down the original Blackpool Exhibition on 25th Oct, 1985 (I was there that last day :waah: ) and, last year closed down the "Dr Who Longleat Exhibition" permanently!!!

So, when I manage to go see this new location for the TARDIS it will be like returning home!!!

YES - I did watch "Scream of Shalka" with, REG (Richard E. Grant) who, I thought he did quite an interesting version, of the "DOCTOR".

Hopefully, "Christopher Ecclestone" will be as successful in returning our favourite TIME LORD, to his rightful place. Guess, we'll have to wait and, see but, I wish him luck.

AGREE - "B7" was made on a very small budget (a budget for an axed Cop series - "SOFTLY, SOFTLY" and, not a show that required special effects) even compared to what, "DW" got and, being the BBC that wasn't a great deal. They weren't geared to spending money but, to producing shows for as, little as possible. Under the circumstances they did a very good job and, produced a bloody miracle. (Or, should that be 7 :hehe: brilliant characters, that are still well loved 25 year's after the show ended!!!)

Most folk criticise "B7" for having poor SFX, wobbly sets, etc - but, they did a good job considering, they had only £50 per episode alloted during the first season. However, it was the characterisations and storylines that hooked viewers, not the effects. Sadly, many of todays, SF shows are all visuals and, little else - they tend to be clones of each other.

(Especially, when it comes to "STAR TREK" - boy, has that gone on far too long - should be allowed to end gracefully, with no more new shows after the demise of it's current version "ENTERPRISE"!!!)
