Damm small linux (DSL) does a 128mb distro exactly for your purposes. I tryed the cd rom version a while back at it was pretty good.

Tell a lie, sorry DSL does not do a 128mb distro, its feather linux I'm thinking off. :wallbash: http://featherlinux.berlios.de/ I have used DSL and its good had it running on a Pentium lappy, however I've not used feather, maybe some one else can vouch for its quality.
