An Acorn RiscPC StrongArm* from 1996 (Last whole PC I ever bought) * The StrongArm runs at 210MHz - and comes from a time when x86 CPUs were struggling to break the 100MHz barrier.
This one - Toshiba Tecra 8000 (PII 400, 256MB RAM, 10Gb HDD) running Vector Linux (Slackware). Used for Usenet and Nethack.
I have managed to find a mobo for an old athlon 600, just to mess about, possibly a second file server to keep in the nice cool loft for extra backup. 250nm, lovely stuff.
I just got rid of my parents old 1.7 ghz p4, with 512 mb of ram and Geforce mx 4's, now the oldest is my parents (my 2nd pc that I handed on to them) p4 2.4ghz, 1.5 gb ram, geforce 5200... I still have my old p2 lying around with 64 mb of ram, but I decided to mod the case and never finished, so its in pieces in a box in my basement
An old pentium 2 box that runs 24/7 in the garage as Smoothwall server. Not only is it very reliable it is also due to it's task the most important computer on the network.
My five year old laptop is in daily use when I am at home, that has a 1.8GHz Pentium M and (now) 768MB RAM. It really is rather good, plays COD4 like a dream (well, it works!) I am trying to re purpose my parents old PC, that is ~6 years old, Athlon XP 3200+, 512MB RAM and an AGP Geforce 5200. That used to sound like a jet engine with a 60mm fan spinning at about 4500rpm as the only cooling in it, speedfan has tamed that a bit but 1% still corresponds to about 3000!
HP TC3100 server box, two P3 1.26ghz chips, 1.5gb of RAM. I think that's just about older than the only pc in this flat that isn't mine..
Wow you guys have some olddddd PC's!!! Surprisingly you guys still use them. My PIII works great, its not too slow. I can play WCIII on it on med settings too.
12 year K6 with 64mb of RAM and some random off brand ISA GPU. What amazes me is that it still works, and that the motherboard is older than the processor.
Celeron D 3.06 running at 3.9ghz with 512 of ram connected to my tv as a media player. Not that old really
Mine is a nice Packard Bell Pulsar 500, with a P3 450MHz, 512mb RAM, 20gig hdd i don't know how old it is as a friend give it me its on nearly everyday running as a backup / downloader box with a mean 20gig that filled up in 3 days. May also start using it as a survaliance machine Quite fast really considering running xp.
my dad still uses a P3 800 Slot1 with 256MB of Rambus. It's been using the same crappy (and cracked) windows for years and no problem so far ...
i could have sworn i posted here before, but oh well... Oldest in the house, just recently ripped apart - old AT computer with a IBM6x86 150MHz and 64MB Ram one of those old badboys was in it... oldest now is my grandmothers laptop Dell Insipron 2500 Mobile P3 900MHz 512MB Ram
All my machines are old for a given value. My ipcop box is a Pentium2, my server is dual processor P3, my day to day machine is a 3 years old Epia M and my games (ahem) rig is an early 939 (4600x2). Actually the dual p3 was as fairly good desktop when loaded with enough ram.
