Well because of my damn shoe I got an ingrown toenail on my big toe. Well I'm fairly immune to pain and all so I decided to take care of it myself. Armed with only a multi-tip screwdriver and toenail clippers I set to work. After shearing a cut from the tip of the toenail to the root and ripping away about one third of my toenail I discovered how ugly your toe really is. Somebody told me that there was just blood under the toenail. Well there was plenty of that, but above all else it looks like a shriveled prune...

Unfortunately the toenail tore off of the ingrown toenail. The little bugger is stuck in a crevice... Anyway, I still found that an interesting sight to see...

I'm a few chips short of a chocolate chip cookie, I know...

So what happened anyway? Did you get it fixed, or do you have and go see the ol' doc?

Like I said its kinda stuck in a crevice. You know how your toenails/fingernails kind of "dig in" on both sides? Well that shallow crevice was deepened by the ingrown toenail and I can't qute get it out.

Guess I'll have to go to the doctor where the insist on putting your foot to sleep. Last time they did that they stuck the needle in my toe and it scraped on my toe bone. That is bar none the most uncomfortable feeling you can ever experience. I really need some new shoes I tell ya...

i found the solution to ingrown toenails is buying shoes that are actually shaped like feet.

birkenstocks. or clarks. or bob marley shoes if you can find em.

and dont go thinking that im a hippy, i have a really nice pair of birk's that arent sandals, rather theyre blue and grey suede casuals, almost like skate shoes. they are a bit pricey, but ive found that the longer life from quality shoes outweighs the initial investment.

    check out www.birkenstock.com

I would wear sheep skin if it wouldn't give me an ingrown toenail. I'll check some of those shoes out, thanks.

i got a rly bed ingrowing toenail a while ago. It got infected and everything, there was a huge puss bubble covering most of my toe. i could barely walk it hurt so much. i took it to the docs where it was cleaned up, the nail was clipped and he told me to keep cleaning it out withcotton buds, i found that sterile tooth picks work well to get inside the side of the nail and clean it out. also wen u cut ur toe nails, cut them streight across and not curved like ur finger nails r :thumb:

and btw i was eating wen i read ur post. made me feel a bit dodgy, but didnt stop me finishing my food :D

    a little OT but neways...

ive had in-growing toe-nails on both my big toes and them surgically removed. i had them for a hell of a long time and i finally got to the point where i couldnt stand them no more.

Now my toes r peachy :D

im now glad that my white socks remain white and dont have blood staind toes :( they were that bad at times!

I had both big toes like that at one point. I fixed one of them and it still looks perfect (or as perfect as male feet can get...). The other one was perfect for a month, then it just went out of control. I'm still working on it. I acquired some tweezers so I will be using those.

I don't think this toe will ever look normal again... I'm literally shearing both sides off so there is just a narrow toenail running down the middle of my toe. Its funny how I can't stand watching stuff like ER or real life operations as it makes me sick, yet I can do this :D
