I just got the Abit AT7-MAX 2 Mobo. It wont boot all i get is long intermitent beeps.

From my experience its usually a video card prob that would cause it to do this i've tried 3 video card and still the same. Tried 3 CPUS also!

I'm stumped! Is it just faulty? (How good are dabs with refund?)

I know my ram is fine i'm using it now with the old mobo.
I also know some abit boards cant handle ECC dimms but they will still boot.

Will give it one more go with some borrowed dimms.

I'v been an Abit user for years, the last two boards i've had been nothing but trouble.

You may have a problem with the ECC DIMMs. The specs from ABit say the mobo supports ECC, but it depends. I've seen 2 identical boards, one works fine and the other hates it. Don't slam ABit b/c you got 2 lemons. I've seen it happen. Good luck with this cause I've heard the AT7-MAX2 is an AWESOME board. Keep us posted about the results.
